This spotless, modern, cozy cafe is my new favorite in Newark! I went there today for the first time and found that delightfully there was seating available and the service was top notch! I wish I had taken note of the young man who was there by himself today and he was working tirelessly and joyfully, making us all feel like his most important customers.
The Greek coffee needed a slight bit of explanation with it including the grinds but I’m always game to try something new and cultured. The “high test” coffee was served on a lovely golden platter with flair. As per the custom, you let the grounds settle as you chat with a friend, sipping slowly on the potent and just right sweet drink (light sugar). He said some people drink the dregs though I’m not sure that would be delicious. The Brie and fig toastie was so yummy! I wish I had room today to try a pastry but next time I will try the baklava!!
The experience of Cafeneo was just lovely today and I will most definitely return again soon. I imagine it’s much more crowded when the students are not on break but it has enough tables to accommodate a lot of people....

There is a paid parking lot attached to this building but I've also had no trouble parking on Beverly Road, which the cafe's expansive patio sits on the corner of. I don't do soda or sweet beverages, and absolutely love every drink they offer at Cafeneo from their homemade lemonade to their matcha and chai to their many custom lattes. Their drinks have just the right amount of sweetness and pair beautifully with the full lunch menu and expansive dessert offerings including portalokopita, melomakarona, kourabiedes, pasta flora, rice pudding, loukoumades, and so much more. Their beautiful patio with afternoon shade is the perfect place to wile away a summer day, and the interior is just as serene when it's time for a strong Greek coffee and a cozy corner. Run, don't walk, to this...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVE this Greek cafe! My husband and I visited for the first time last week, and we were not disappointed. We wanted to try their unique baklava cheesecake and boy was it Heavenly! This is a high quality dessert as are all of Cafeneo's selections. The baklava cheesecake was creamy, a hint of lemon, with filo pastry, and chopped nuts-absolutely delicious! I had a nice chat with the manager, Tony. He was so nice, dedicated, and passionate about making and bringing to Newark the best Greek coffee and irresistible desserts! We also had an amazing cappuccino made by pretty Barista Mackenzie. I wish Tony and all his employees the best with Cafeneo. We can't wait to go back again. Thank you, Tony, for bringing this lovely cafe to Newark. I already spread the word to friends, family, and people I'm meeting on the streets. Σου εύχομαι ότι καλύτερο! (I wish you...
