Karpollo — Restaurant in Newark

I have been to this restaurant a bunch of times since it opened. The food is really good but my experience today has ruined it for me and I won’t be returning. I usually order the same thing when I come, so I already know the price. Today, I was charged slightly higher. I paid without question but asked for a receipt. To my surprise I was charged a credit card fee when I paid in cash. I asked the lady and she points to the machine and says “it’s because of this” whatever that means. I ask her to explain and she says “they told me to do it”. Ok, no problem. Bottom line is this Karpollo, you want to cheat me 79¢? I will not spend another dollar in this establishment. I refuse to patronize a business that nickel and dimes there customers. I don’t care how good the food...

Poor customer service. Poor communication even if interaction is done in Spanish. I placed an order over toast and when arrived they stated that the order never came through. I told her my order and it seemed as if she told it to the back kitchen and waited 15 minutes. I come back from my double parked car and she never placed the order since she thought I walked out. She was more concerned with someone who just walked in AFTER I arrived instead of correcting their mistake. Could not provide refund in person either, now wasting time calling my bank to get the money back...

First time going inside to order the host was shocked when I walked in then the cook came out to see me as well like they never seen a black Muslim person before. I ordered but was scared because they made me feel uncomfortable. The chicken fried rice was greattttttt so I go back today the host another one doesn’t greet stares in shocked again and gave attitude when I was ordering she also made them rush my order so I can leave their establishment I’m guessing yeah...
