I have to say, this boba spot has secured its place as my absolute favorite. Whenever I swing by, I can't resist ordering either the Sunrise or Boyfriend drink – they're just too good to pass up. While the location itself is definitely safe, it tends to get pretty crowded, especially with the college campus right across the street. One thing you definitely don't want to forget when you're placing your order is to ask for their rewards card. Trust me, it's worth it – after you've racked up 10 drinks, you'll score yourself a freebie! And speaking of ordering, let me clue you in on a little secret: the rice balls here are absolutely divine. Personally, I can't get enough of the shrimp and crab ones, especially when they're loaded up with spicy mayo. It's like a flavor explosion in every bite. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Every single one of them goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience possible. They're always friendly, always respectful – it's truly a pleasure to be greeted with such warmth every time I walk through the door.

One of the rare boba store in NKIT/Rutgers Newark campus. This a bright and colorful store, offering drinks, teas, appetizers, rice balls and noodles dishes. Being my first visit here, got the mango strawberry drink with bubbles. It was refreshing, not too sweet. Many different variety of other fruit flavors are also available to try. Got the takoyaki and chicken rice ball from food menu. Takoyaki was decent, it was little extra fried for my taste. Comes in 7-8 pieces, good size to share. I liked the chicken rice ball more than takoyaki. Rice was fresh and soft. The chicken stuffed in had a good taste too. Overall I had a positive first experience. I am delighted to have found this place next to my work. Will be stopping by more often for lunch and drinks.

On the Fourth of July, I was craving bubble tea. Luckily Yaya Tea was open. First time here at this location. Parking was easy. There is meter parking on Central Ave. Once inside, I ordered a large taro milk tea. The boba would have been extra charge. My drink was made quickly since it was empty inside. I got the narrow straw since I didn't have any toppings added to my drink. Unfortunately the straw could not puncture the top of the drink. It ended up breaking. The taro itself was good. Nothing spectacular about it but good enough. The price was reasonable. 5.95 ($6.34 after tax). Typical price you would pay at other bubble tea places in north Jersey. The staff were not memorable. One took my order and one made it.

I ordered frequently from this place so you would think that they bea little more accommodating, which it should not matter how frequent one orders. I placed an indoor order when i suddenly received an urgent call from my niece. In a panic i walked out the store to take the call inside my vehicle parked right out side their store and when I hung up with her and returned to collect my order already paid for, to my pleasant surprise the store was closed.

Everyone had gone and no one considered making me aware that they were closing soon and that it would be wise to chance a order, since the hours on the outside of the door were faded and not legible at the time. I called to be refunded the next day when the manager told me in a very in-compassionate manner almost angry that she wasn’t refunding me and that my urgent call was not her problem. She insisted that I reorder and repeated several times stating that she was loosing money for making me another order free of charge. She kept talking over me and wasn’t apologizing at all about the fact that i wasn’t going to receive my money back. instead she some how turned into a victim and blamed me for the free order. I retired with talking some sense into her about how she could have resolve this and learn how to better serve customers and took this “free” order since she continued wining. FOOL ME ONCE SHAME ON YOU! THERE WONT BE A TWICE!!!

One last thing, if you’re allergic to dairy don’t piss them off like the case in this incident because the manager will add dairy to a vegan...

The rice balls here and milk teas are tasty but they use so much single use plastic so I don’t like coming here. This is not a good place if you get upset by companies using single use plastic FYI. There are so many compostable alternative available nowadays so it is especially frustrating. They also do not offer any reusable dining options (eg if you are eating or drinking there). I expect for the cost of the items that they would have some reusable or at the very least compostable options. It shows how much their leadership doesn’t care about polluting the environment. Ironic really because probably the garbage they produce will be incinerated in & pollute Newark, where their customers are. Really a shame. They just renovated too and included all these ugly plastic artificial flowers on their wall, showing how much plastic they use in their business. Plus I see Yaya garbage in lots of places around campus around the place. Not impressed with this...
