Red Royal Chicken & Mix Grill — Restaurant in Newark

So far I have only tried the shawerma and it was so amazing I have no words. I have tried shawerma in different parts of the middle east, and I never thought the best shawerma I'd try would be in Newark, NJ. The staff is extremely hospitable and generous and try to remember your name if you tell them. The restaurant is extremely clean and you can see into the kitchen from the cash register and it is very clean and hygienic. Everything is made to order so it is not sitting out.

Update: Came back today with my mom and she ordered a grilled chicken salad and requested shawerma instead of grilled chicken and she really liked it! She is very picky about middle eastern food because she grew up there and always feels like she could make it better than the restaurants in the US so it was not expected. I used to really enjoy ordering from this place. The first time I tried the chicken wings, they were juicy, flavorful, and a great size. Lately though, the quality has gone downhill. Each time I’ve ordered over the past few months, the wings have gotten smaller, and my most recent order was the worst yet. The wings were tiny—one was actually smaller than my finger. It’s disappointing to see such a change, especially when the wings were what originally made this spot stand out. I hope this isn’t a case of quality dropping as business grows, because that would be a real letdown.
