Karpollo — Restaurant in Newark

Food is good.. however their customer service is HORRIBLE. I found out about them through Grub Hub and placed my order through the application. Multiple times my orders were wrong. The last straw was when I ordered & they still charged me for my order but never delivered the food. Luckily Grub Hub helped me get my money back & while I was on the line with them they said I wasn't the only one.

So I decided to try my luck by calling instead. This time they went to the wrong address and they charged me more than what their prices on Grub Hub stated. When I called to speak to a manager it sounded like he didn't care and he did not apologize or anything then he passed the phone off to the person I was complaining about.

Now they dont even answer their phones. Why claim you deliver if you don't want to??

The owner of the establishment needs to praise his cooks because the food is the ONLY...

I don't know how the food tastes as I never got that far - this review is for the establishment in Newark - I placed an order online for delivery scheduled for 11:30am - they say they open at 11am and I'm assuming this means that the food has been prepared and they are actually ready to serve at 11am - but this is not the case. If you want their rotisserie chicken it's not ready until 12:30 (so if you have a normal lunch break from 12:00 - 12:30/12:45 - rotisserie chicken isn't an option for you). Which is fine but none of that is mentioned on their website nor on the menu for the rotisserie chicken. So when they say they open at 11am what they mean is they aren't there until 11am and food is just starting to be prepared at 11am. They also didn't call me until 11:40 to tell me this - not enough time to order elsewhere with enough time. So I canceled my order and I have not...

This is a peruvian restaurant. If you are looking for a rotisserie chicken peruvian style, this is the place. I've been ordering from this restaurant for more than 5 years. Even that I have moved 2 towns away, I still get the chicken from this restaurant because I haven't found that can even come close to it. I have a rule: I don't go out to eat something that I can cook at home. If I choose something from the menu, it is because I can't or I don't have the means to be able to make at home and if I come back, it has to be good. Their arroz chaufa is really good. They have a plate that it is called a Combo; it comes the whole chicken with fries, salad, arroz chaufa and a 2 lt soda for a good price, less than $40.
