I've been coming to Casa Vasca for almost 40 years and it has never disappointed me...you enter through the door of a friendly neighborhood tavern, go past the bar and into the very pleasant separate restaurant area where you're greeted by the staff... sometimes the owner herself will greet you; she's almost always at the restaurant...the service is excellent and the food -a combination of Spanish and Basque- simply wonderful...as soon as you're seated you'll have a basket of warm rolls and a bowl of the day's soup - usually Caldo Gallego which is delicious... appetizers include camarones al ajillo, grilled chorizo, and clams in green sauce, which are all just wonderful...entrees like grilled langostinos, roasted goat, veal, chicken, and all kinds of seafood, are perfectly prepared and flavorful and the portions are large enough for lunch the next day...the orange cake for dessert is interesting and absolutely wonderful! Casa Vasca is a gem... it's consistently excellent and has been one of my favorite restaurants anywhere for decades... don't miss it!

I've come here effectively once a year ever since 2005 or so.... Absolutely amazing food and service and the staff are always amazing and courteous. Great parking. Good servings are always large and well made and the food is authentic and delicious always! 7/1/23 As usual absolutely amazing diner and amazing staff. Food is just as good as it's always been and always felt like family here. Staff treat you well and are generous. Definition of Spanish hospitality. Portions are still fantastic and prices aee great to! I'd give it a 10/10 if I could. Thank you Maria for always having an amazing restaurant and establishment!

My wife and I am enjoying our food at Casa Vasca in Newark New Jersey. This place is a hidden gem, worth a visit to Newark, NJ. We lived for two years in the north of Spain and the food brought back memories of a wonderful time in our life; the bacalao, the chiperones, the lentil soup, the bread, everything was homemade, fresh and delicious! The waiters were all from Spain, although immigrated to the United States, and spoke both fluent English in Spanish. I had always thought of Newark as a slightly grimy town that I had to pass through on my way through New York City but now I have a reason to visit Newark!

Casa Vasca offers an outstanding dining experience! The wait staff was incredibly attentive, with several waiters ensuring that we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Selvin, Javier and José were great!! They were not only friendly but also brought a great sense of humor, which added a delightful touch to the evening. They went above and beyond to accommodate my mom's dietary requests with care and flexibility. The food arrived quickly, and the portions were generous enough to share. Overall, the service and food quality made for a memorable visit. Highly recommended!

Hellooo!! Visiting from Miami Beach for the friendly game between Argentina-Jamaica back in September I was sent over here by a coworker from Paterson. The restaurant looks unupdate but classy. We ordered shrimp appetizer which was good. We also had a seafood paella for two which was super good looking but the rice was overcooked, dry, and had no seasoning. What a disappointment. For dessert we have two flans. Definitely the winners of the night. Service was casual, friendly, and very good !!!
