MOTEL CASA GUEST HOUSE — Hotel in Newark

DO NOT BOOK HERE! I was traveling solo from the UK arrived at the hotel only to find out that they had overbooked and given my room away so I had nowhere to stay. I had no internet due to the flight so could not contact them they blamed it on me 'not confirming' my stay even though I had responded to their email once I got on WiFi at JFK. I have never ever had this issue anywhere else I've stayed before! They clearly do this all the time as a few moments after I arrived a couple of women visiting from Canada had been told the same thing and we ended up with nowhere to sleep. Some of the staff were incredibly rude and kept laughing at us from the other room, did not care about our situation and kept trying to get us to leave. The lobby was dirty and we ended up having to share a room at another hotel for the night because of our limited budget, completely missed the first day of our visit to the city. The best thing that I can say about these accommodations are that they are clean. But there are many reasons for choosing other properties instead: 1) bad neighborhood in a bad part of Newark; 2) multiple rooms share a single small bathroom; 3) no amenities whatsoever; 4) dated and worn bedding and furniture; 5) you will not be given a room key nor will you receive a receipt or billing statement and you cannot use a credit card to pay; 5) though low-cost relative to hotels in the area (namely Newark airport), these rooms are a poor value overall for what you get.

My advice is to avoid this place; you can find far superior accommodations in the area for not so...

Misleading photes and internet description. 4 story house, not like the pics of large building. No bathrooms in rooms, they are shared multiple rooms. Complimentary airport shuttle (with very questionable driver) cost $20 then ran out of gas and had I to help push the vehicle to the gas station and donate $10 for fuel because driver had no cash. Did not stay in the shady neighborhood and had to shell out more $ for ride back to airport. Do not recommend. Sorry. Make a more accurate description of what it actually is and it would be less...
