Mannys is a family owned and operated restaurant so the atmosphere is very friendly and everyone seems to know each other!! They make u feel welcomed and appreciated which is hard to find nowadays. My favorite dish is the stewed chicken w/veggie rice. The small take out box is only $7 but can easily feed 2. The large is (I believe) $9, and both come with a handful of yummy plantanos. The chicken literally melts in ur mouth and they use just the right amount of seasoning so its not too spicy for those of us who don't like spicy food!! I went in for a late breakfast and had a mangu con los tres golpes (smashed plantain with a side of two salami rounds, two fried eggs and two slices of fried cheese). Food was good, the location is convenient but please note this isn’t the best of areas. The service wasn’t bad but be prepared to wait for check out. They don’t give you your food unless you pay in advance, whether you eat in or take out. In addition, we had a side of plátano maduros, and one of each kind of empanada and they were good. I don’t normally leave reviews on food spots but today for lunch I went on Uber eats craving steak and found Manny’s. I was super iffy but after reading reviews I realized maybe I should just give it a try. I’m currently eating my steak and peppers and it’s so delicious. Exactly what I wanted and hit the spot entirely.
