South Barbeque Restaurant — Restaurant in Newark

I have been coming here for years but service seems to be getting worst and worst. Before writing this review I noticed I'm not the only one that has noticed. Also the 20% gratuity automatically added to every check, so how are the servers supposed to be motivated to provide a good service when they know their tip is guaranteed. Super disappointed my family and I used to love coming here. Today we had our usual 1/4 chicken with ribs combo which was great, but we were not greeted properly. Server left the table without us finishing our order ignoring the kids orders. Everytime we needed something we literally had to walk over the register and ask for it. Every part of the service was horrible hopefully the owners start...

I would give this place ZERO STARS. This place was NOT BUSY! We waited 45 mins no food came out NOT EVEN APPETIZERS. Everyone was getting their food. The waitresses saw that we’ve been waiting and did NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT WEVE BEEN WAITING. I went up to the manager and the owner was there and I told them how long we have been waiting. THEY DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE. We told them we were leaving and they didn’t even care. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND BAD BUSINESS. I WILL NOT BE GOING HERE OR EVER RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! Customer service is key! DON WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE. There are way better places...

This place had the worst food I ever tasted the steak taste like real leather, I could have just ate one of my winter coats I never had a steak that tough no seasoning no flavor terrible the rice was dry no flavor and if you're not of Spanish descent when you walk in they stare at you like you're an alien needless to say they'll never get any more of my money strange how foreign and people come to this country and act like they're better than everybody else.. basically and tell them to hold the Flies you can't even sit down and eat because of the flies are all over the place maybe in thier country that's acceptable...
