While a bit more than I usually would look to spend for lunch, it is kind of difficult to find an Indian restaurant that has service quick enough to grab and go, eat, and be able to get be to your shift in time.
First off, those of you on the fence or uncertain abojt the Mango Mojito, whether because of the opaque color or whatever reason, please bear in mind. This location is not using an extract, or flavoring. Judging from the rich, nalmost velvety finish of the drink, I believe they are using a mango PUREE. For the love of everything good in this world at least TRY it! It is a fantastic accompaniment to any spicy food as the mango sweetness and texture seem to wipe out trace heat, the mint gives it a refreshing flavor, and the citric acid of the lemon in place of a lime help offset the sweetness perfectly! Try this drink!
The Delhi buttered chicken had just a bit of a crispiness to the outside of it, clearly indicating they had seared it before putting it in the sauce. The sauce in turn hadthe perfect level of warm heat. Don't misunderstand! The dish is not the usual level of spice you'd expect from indian dishes. If you are nee to the cuisine or just ot that into highe heat spice levels, this is a fantastic dish to order!
As you can see from the picture, the dish mainly consisted of sauce with just enough chicken to be filling, but that is where the incredible garlic naan comes in handy! On its own, the naan was soft, flavorful, and just thick enough to stand up to the heavy sauce without turning to mush. I was satisfied with the portion and look forward to trying this...
Read moreThe Food A friend made a new discovery for lunch, it is an Indian Sports Bistro called Urban Kitchen. They serve a variety of food, and they all sound quite appetizing. My friend and I visited during lunch time and ordered their Chicken Punjabi Panini and Desi Pulled Chicken Burger. The Chicken Punjabi Panini has spicy and creamy gravy chicken, with vegetable addon. The Desi Pulled Chicken Burger had very tender curry chicken with vegetable addon. Both the panini and the burger were flavorful and delicious. The (masala? curry?) fries were also good, I prefer them over standard fries. They have a lot of selections on their menu as well as a lunch special, so will return again.
The Miscellaneous The restaurant, or technically is a sports bistro, is within a large plaza, so no parking issues. The inside is decent sized, with a good amount of seating, though slightly packed. There are also a few tables for outdoor seating. They have a wide selection menu, from Indian Street Eats, to Burgers & Sliders, to Tandoori Kebab Plates, and much more. There's also the aforementioned lunch special, which I want to try. Prices are pretty reasonable for the menu item. This place has quite the unique concept and is...
