Wawa — Restaurant in Newark

10/21: Placed a mobile order at 1am, just buttered toast and loaded fries. I’m currently at work but I get a moment to step away and get food in the last hour before I have to leave. Get there and the wait takes forever, and honestly it looked like my order had been sitting there a while before it was bagged up. I finally get my order around 1:20, I drive not even 5 minutes away, and sit down to eat. The food is cold, absolutely no warmth, and the fries are so hard I hurt my teeth on them. It was very obvious that my fries were old when they served them and didn’t make fresh ones, just lazily threw in whatever had been sitting out. I go back at 2am and ask them to remake it because that’s when I got off shift. The two middle aged ladies behind the deli acted like they didn’t believe me, whispering to themselves “that order was forever ago” as if that’s a reason for them to not believe me, I explained that I waited till I got off shift not even 40 minutes after I got the food. First lady passed me off to the second one to deal with and she said it will be a while (honestly up until this point I didn’t think they were gonna make it). Said it would be 13 minutes, I said no problem, and I waited 15 minutes, got my food hot, fresh, and how it should have been made the first time. By the end they had given me so much attitude between the two of them, obviously hate their lives and their jobs because the customer service was terrible, I got no apology or consideration at all, they were very obviously reluctant...

So no surprise here...but I have to let people know. Wawa's have been getting worse for years but this place is one of the worst. We call it the "ghetto" Wawa. On any given day you can find panhandlers, thieves of one sort or another or bums hanging around the parking lot bothering the people who are just trying to get some lunch or gas. So I figured I would pop in on a Sunday morning for a coffee and breakfast sandwich, reasonable thing to do. Noticed coffee cups are smaller now, but prices the same (more on that later...). Lots of employees present, behind the back counter, on phones, chit chatting. No manager present. Most coffee pots empty as usual. Lots of empty creamer containers in the box. I threw out a few. One half and half out of date by a few days. It was more like yogurt. Totally disgusting. Finally made a soso coffee. Grabbed a burnt sandwich and a soggy hash brown. No self checkout operating. One register open, employee was being berated by an angry customer. Finally a manager came up and opened another register, then walked away. I just put my stuff back and left. Boycotting Wawa for 30 days. You guys suck. I hope you can do better in the future but I...

Very dirty place with heroin needles in the bathroom. Disgusting. I felt I'd get a disease just walking into the bathroom so I walked out ordered a beef burrito the so called mgr which was less than professional with multi colored hair and eyebrows yellow and blue. Shouting orders and giving dirty looks. I remember the days I worked for wawa there was a dress code. How can you take someone serious when they look like a CLOWN ???? Then my order came to $9.03 I refused to break a $100 bill for 3 pennies ( while the xra change tray was in front of her) the cashier was rude made me go to my car and search 10 minutes for 3 PENNIES. She was extremely RUDE and I will NEVER go to that craphole. Last time I went a black woman was getting arrested by the deli counter while her posse were being roudy . What a quality store .
