Co-op Farmers Market — Local services in Newark

Great store if you are looking for vegan or vegetarian options or healthy eating in general. However there’s an employee there and I truly feel like she treats customers of a different race differently than other customers. I went in last week to get some vegan desserts and when I walked in I was not greeted, The lady wiping down tables while other customers were shopping. As soon as I came in and started looking around, she dropped everything she was doing to go behind the register and stare at me and watch my every move. She was rude and didn’t acknowledge me as a customer. Quiet during the point of sale. Today I went in and the same behavior occurred. This same lady treated certain people with respect, smiling and creating conversation and even offered certain deals. As soon as I got in line, I spoke and said hello and all I got was a “Hi”. Never spoke to me didn’t tell me prices or anything . Quiet point of sale again. I don’t appreciate feeling like I’m being treated unfairly and I feel uncomfortable when I go in there to get food from the cafe. I work hard and to spend my hard earn on money just to get treated poorly is...

I highly recommend avoiding shopping at Newark Natural Foods and instead exploring the unique offerings at the farmers market. The prices and quality of the produce available at the farmers market truly exceed expectations, and the personal touch from the small business owners is truly remarkable. They are extremely kind and always willing to help you with anything you need. Despite the market's small size, you will find everything you are looking for, from fresh fruits and vegetables to artisanal products. It's truly a shame that this farmers market is only open from March through November, so make sure to take advantage of it while you can. What a fantastic grocery store! If you eat all-natural, this is the place to shop in the Newark/Wilmington areas! Come here and you will find Baba's Kombucha on tap, a wall of fresh herbs and spices, and many organic items. They also carry natural cleaning products such as laundry detergent and dish soap. Cafe 67 (the store's cafe) has a fantastic smoothie menu and gluten free desserts I can't find anywhere else! They also have a full service salad & soup bar (located in cafe 67), and to-go healthy drinks (such as cold-pressed juices!)
