Creek Bottom Burgers & BBQ — Restaurant in Newcastle

I have came here a few times passing through as I like to eat their whole fried okra. One night I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with mustard and when I got home with it, it didn't have any mustard and when I picked it up all the chicken fell off in the starfoam container. I didn't realize that the chicken was diced chicken. Who would have thought you would have diced chicken on a sandwich? I guess I just assumed it was going to be sliced, although the menu didn't say it was sliced or diced. When I called to let them know about my experience. I talked to a female one of the kids up there and she didn't seem to care at all. Never offered a replacement or anything. Matter of fact she treated me really bad like I did something wrong. I asked to speak to her manager or supervisor and she said she was the supervisor. The girl needed to have customer service experience before working at a place like this. I'm writing this post today because I passed through and decided to get me some whole fried okra again and this time it was a young boy that was at the window. I called in my order. I had called while waiting in line to pick up my order asking to see if the person in front of me was parking at the window or if they were waiting on an order that they just placed. The reason being only had one order of whole fried okra and if I had to wait for very long my order was going to get very cold while their order was just being made but the boy said that I was the rude one. I had called my order in prior to getting there so I could just drive through get my order and go. However, when I got there somebody went in front of me and placed their order and they didn't ask them to move forward like most places do when waiting on their order. They sit there the whole time while their order was just being made and so I waited to just pick up my whole fried okra for 20 minutes. Then when I got my okra it was overcooked and barely warm. If you say anything that is negative to any one of the workers for some reason they are allowed to treat the customers like crap just for bringing it to their attention. Now that it's happened twice to me, I'll never go back and I would advise others to not go at all. They're all kids working there. I don't know that I've ever seen one adult to have them treat their customers any different. Horrible customer service!!! Save...

Creek bottom burgers has come a long way in such little time. It seems like yesterday they were in their trailer at the snow cone shack. They have definitely upped their game in turn. The restaurant is well decorated and has comfortable seating inside and out. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. The prices are reasonable. The quality of food is good. Food prep time was spot on. They weren't busy when we were there and they had our food out to us in good time. Food was delicious and filling. They have really good fries that are thick so you get the crunch on the outside and the soft texture inside. Lastly the spicy BBQ sauce is awesome.

Two critics though, and that's the reason for the 4 stars. First the hamburger patties are are the thin side. I get this makes for faster service and it's easier to judge if it's done. By having such thing patties you lose a lot of moisture and the pattie becomes a mess to eat because it crumbles. So please add some girth to your patties and they will be perfect. Secondly the brisket was a tad dry. Granted we went there close to closing time and they were probably done some time well before that. The flavor was still kick butt though.

Overall it was a good experience and if you have a hankering for gold old American food don't hesitate...

I really enjoyed having lunch here with my family. We've lived in the area for just over a year now and we've not been able to make it yet due to our work schedules. This place is only open during the weekdays, so it wasn't feasible to visit. I'm glad we had today off, though, because we were finally able to try it out. The food was absolutely outstanding. I got a burger and my wife got a chopped brisket sandwich. Both of them were extremely flavorful and juicy. I really liked the hand-cut fries, but my wife wasn't really a fan. She's more of a McDonald's french fry girl. My son got a grilled cheese sandwich with some fries, and he totally smashed it. The facility was really clean, the staff very welcoming, and we will for sure be returning whenever we have another...
