Starbucks — Restaurant in Newport Beach

Everything went smoothly at the register when I asked for my coffee but there was a miscommunication when I asked for a a white chocolate iced coffee. When I brought it up to one of the baristas attention, I was respectful about it because it could have been that I had not spoken loud enough and it could have been a mistake on my part. I would have reordered the correct one and not made it a big issue. she off the bat annoyed and was overly stern and spoke to me like a child stating “when you want the chocolate white chocolate iced coffee DO NOT say iced coffee because it is going to confuse our barista and they will think you just want a regular iced coffee.” Which only shifted the blame to me as the customer. She had an interaction with a male customer earlier where he wouldn’t leave her alone to work so I’m not sure if that anger was just immediately redirected towards me. Regardless it was not a big issue but the way she spoke to me was very authoritative and rude. And I feel as though she took advantage of the fact that I was very shy in asking my drink to be remade to let out her emotions of anger. Her name was Andrea. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and they produce orders quite quickly. Crumbs can be found speckled on the floor and tables, but nothing to the point I would find offensive enough to necessitate more regular cleaning efforts. Background music is audible and adds atmosphere but does not stifle any efforts for easy conversation. Electric lighting is adequate, and lots of natural light comes in through the windows during the day hours for a natural, calming environment. The only thing I dislike here is a general table arrangements and lack of outdoor seating.

If I could, I would give this place a 4.5, but as I have to round towards a whole number, I feel the quality of the service of the staff calls me to round up to a five as opposed to down to a four. I do recommend it strongly for grabbing a quick coffee to go or for a short sit-down to catch up with a friend. That's said, it's not the best Starbucks for prolonged sitting if you plan on studying or doing prolonged...

Awesome location!! Staff is wonderful and very friendly. My drinks and pastries always taste great. Once I ordered from the mobile app and when I got there, one of the baristas informed me that they were out of the breakfast sandwich I had ordered and that the app must not have updated. He offered me a different sandwich and I was totally cool with that. He then handed me a $4 "next one is on us" gift card (with the approval of a manager I'm sure) and apologized for the inconvenience. I thought that was really nice and very much...
