This was the straw that broke the camel's back. We will never go back to Dusit Thai. Last night at 5:30pm we were greeted by being asked if we had a reservation (we did not) and then after the staff pointed out all the reserved tables, finally found a corner table that apparently they could allow us to sit at. It seemed like they didn't want us there from the start. Being locals, maybe they assumed I wouldn't garner them as much money as a tourist, I don't know. We ordered an appetizer and my husband ordered duck and I ordered a sushi roll. When the waitress finally arrived, she set down the duck and the app and then said "Enjoy!". We asked, what about my meal? She said that they were very busy and only 1 sous-chef and we'd just have to "sit tight". This was a big mistake. I think she forgot to ring my sushi roll on the ticket. So my husband poked at his food, hoping mine would come out soon so we could eat together. It made our experience terrible. Just when we decided we would just leave without my food, it arrived. So we stayed and I ate a bit of my meal, but my husband was already done eating. So we were ready to leave, and no one was coming to our table. Also, people were being turned away at the door, so my husband flagged down a different waiter to let him know we were done and we were greeted with the nasty response that he's not our waiter and they were very busy and we're just going to have to wait. Well, we explained we just wanted to let the staff know, so that they could seat people instead of turning them away at the door. The restaurant is obviously very busy, obviously under staffed and definitely mismanaged. We won't bother eating here ever again. The service...
Read moreSo I walked in tonight at 8:10, was sat immediately. The waitress came over and asked what you want. I said I just sat down and we haven’t even ordered drinks. She said oh well kitchen closing at 8:30, I said well your open until 9, I was not told that and you sat us. She smiled ignored and asked my date what she was having, she said I’m thinking of “...” and the waitress took off. A few minutes later returned with it and said do you know what you want? I said I still haven’t even ordered a drink, had a chance to do an appetizer, and now she has her meal. I then said if you take a party in the kitchen stays until your party leaves that’s called running a business. She said oh so sorry what you like Obviously going no where I said forget it, I’ll go to McDonalds at least they understand customer service. Absolutely horrified by this experience. Poor management, policy and treatment! If your going to close the kitchen You tell people before you sit them If you sit them without saying so that’s on you so you keep the kitchen open. You should have it clearly posted in case your hostess forgets to say anything. You don’t add insult to injury by smiling and saying have a good night. That’s like a cop giving you a ticket and saying...
Read moreThe two that own this place are absolutely wonderful people. Went here for my first date with the woman I’ve been with for over two years now, it’s a great atmosphere with food that’s unbelievably astonishing. Their Thai Iced Tea and Iced Coffee is a real treat. My go-to meals are the Chicken Phad Thai and the Thai Basil Fried Rice. I’m usually a picky eater but this is one of those places where I can order literally anything on the menu and be satisfied. (You get lots of food when you eat-in and when you take-out) the first time I came here, I was very impressed and left a 15$ tip, which even felt like too little of a tip! I come here often and I’m never unsatisfied with both the food and the service. Would give 6 stars if possible. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Update: about to be 3 years with the love of my life and very excited for our 3rd anniversary date at our favorite place. Last year we had to do takeout because of COVID, but it was just as great.
I will forever be grateful for this...
