Empire Tea & Coffee on Bellevue Avenue is a Newport treasure trove that offers the perfect blend of cozy ambiance and delightful treats. Whether you prefer the charming indoor seating or the breezy outdoor patio, this cafe has you covered for any mood or weather. Their espresso drinks are top-notch, delivering rich flavor that satisfies even the most discerning coffee connoisseurs. The lattes are particularly noteworthy, with silky smooth milk and beautifully crafted foam art. For those who appreciate a good old-fashioned drip coffee, Empire doesn't disappoint - their brew is robust and flavorful without much of a stale & bitter aftertaste. Food-wise, the avocado toast is a standout. Perfectly ripe avocados are generously spread on artisanal bread, making for a satisfying and Instagram-worthy snack or light meal. One of the unexpected pleasures of Empire is the people-watching. The cafe attracts an aspirational crowd, offering a glimpse into Newport's stylish and affluent scene. It's the perfect spot to sip your latte and pretend you're part of the yacht-owning elite or otherwise fake it til you make it. Located just a stone's throw from the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Empire is ideally situated for a pre- or post-tour caffeine fix. The staff adds to the charm with their sassy wit and friendly banter, making every visit feel like you're part of an inside joke. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Empire Tea & Coffee - Bellevue is a must-visit spot that encapsulates the essence of Newport's laid-back morning rituals.

It got busy, but you can order online or use ‘skip line’ kiosk. The lobby was messy: plastic wrappers on the floor, drips of coffee, spills, barely anything on the condiment bar. Drinks were made well, but barista on the register did not ring up the proper size. It took about 15 minutes to get two drinks, estimated time in the app was 20 minutes. They seemed crowded and busy, but I think it’s a weekend morning rash. Overall it is an okay experience, but second time we are in a chain and it is quite messy. Last time the size was also rang up wrongly, but they did it in a right size.

Obsessed with Empire Tea & Coffee! They have a curated menu of delicious teas and coffees, with something for everyone. Looking for a classic black tea or a trendy fruit infusion? They've got it all. The coffee selection is impressive too, with tons of flavor options. Don't forget to check out their small, but delicious breakfast and lunch options - perfect for a light bite. They even have some great vegan and vegetarian choices! Can't wait to be back and explore more of their amazing tea and coffee selection.

My favorite coffee shop in Newport. Over the last few years visiting Newport, I’ve made this my spot for coffee. Staff is always super friendly and coffee selection is great. I’ve tried the delicious baked goods and have never been disappointed. They also cater to dog owners, having a treat jar for our four legged companions, who doesn’t appreciate that. They have plenty of space inside and out. Definitely worth a visit.

This has become our go to place after our favorite closed. Food is very fresh, made to order (very specific on my end) and offer a great selection. It is convenient to be able to place your order ahead and skip the line especially if you’re taking a yoga class in the studio that’s above this location. The bread for their egg sandwiches is delicious!!!

I love this place! There’s a cute woody open cubicle that I love, the seat gets lots of natural lights and so pretty! Their outside seatings are great as well. Their staff are always nice too. I’ve tried their americano and sencha and they’ve all been great!
