UPDATE The service this time was much better. The food was probably not as good as last time. As I said we would try again. This is the last time we will get sushi here. Service was faster this time. I still would not recommend.

I'll start with the only good thing. The fish was fresh. Now to give y'all the real feedback. There was a 20 minute wait with empty tables.... Once seated it was twenty minutes before we saw a server. We ordered immediately because we had all kinds of time to decide... The rest of the time we very rarely saw him. One hour and twenty minutes after ordering, we were about to walk out. The server walks by and says they are finishing your sushi right now. So .. we waited. Finally our food arrived. We did have a plus one sushi roll, hmmmm the roll had shellfish in it. We were very straightforward with our server about both of us having a shellfish allergy. We were short the order of fish eggs we had ordered. The server said he would get them right on it. Now the poke bowl. What we received was not a poke bowl. it was a rice bowl with some raw tuna, and veggies on top. Poke is a marinated fish and veggies, with a small amount of rice on the side. Out of hunger of waiting so long we ate everything. The sushi was average at best. The poke bowl was not a poke bowl. We never got our fish eggs. When I went to pay I was told they are almost ready. Really? Now with all of this being said, when we first went in they were busy. The business slowed way down while we were there. We will give them another chance at some point and time. At that point if things have changed, I will update my review. Until that point.... I do...

The food is great but the service was awful. Our waitress first sat us at a booth that was dirty when we got to it so we had to stand in the middle of the walk way and wait for it to be cleaned. Then me and my boyfriend could barely squeeze into it and I’m very small. Not a big deal so we just moved to a table. We ordered our food before we got anything to drink. She brought our salads that tasted very off and very very watery. We pushed them to edge of table as we had obviously only taken one bite and she never grabbed them nor asked why we didn’t eat them. They sat there the entire time. When we got our sushi I had to ask for sauce bowls and chopsticks only to be told there’s one chopstick left and all their bowls are dirty so she asked if she could just bring me plastic cups. Mind you it’s wasn’t busy at all because our waitress and another young girl had time to sit directly across from us and eat so why not wash them? Then she ran outside to see her friends so we had to grab our own to go boxes and got not one refill. As we were leaving we heard her say something along the lines of “I wanna host because I like to sit down anyway.” Well she was very right from what I had seen. Very unprofessional and I suggest new staff. These girls were running around or sitting down not doing anything while the girl with the long braid ran around working...

When I pulled up to Marshall's I noticed this place was new and just opened up, while I was checking out I asked the cashier if they had tried it and they stated yes, and that it was pretty good so I decided to check it out. I really don't have high hopes or expectations when it comes to getting sushi in Newport, or pretty much anywhere in the South so I wasn't expecting 5 star sushi or anything like that.

No one was at the hostess stand when I came up but my waitress shortly came and sat me down at a booth. Quickly took my drink order and gave me a menu. They have a decent amount of items to choose from so I chose a handful of items. My favorite things were the gyoza, you get 8 for only like $5 so it was a good deal, and also enjoyed the vegetable tempura. The sushi was not edible, felt like I was going to get sick after eating it. The beef low mein had no flavor, had to add a bunch of yum yum and soy sauce to it. Egg rolls were just ok, only ended up eating one.

My waitress was nice and attentive but I got an uncomfortable vibe from the rest of the staff. I was eating alone and kept noticing them all staring at me, not sure if it was because I ordered so much food or what but it made my experience eating there awkward. Most likely won't be back the food just wasn't good and most of the staff makes you feel...
