Opinion Brewing Dive Bar — Restaurant in Newport

As others have mentioned this is not a brewery by any stretch. It’s some sort of dive bar, smoke shop, liquor store that hasn’t been updated and properly maintained in what looks to be forever. From what I could tell multiple health and safety codes are being broken. Want to have privacy in the men’s room? Well that’s not happening. No dividers or doors between any of the urinals or the one very broken toilet.

From what we could tell this is some sort of sketchy run down biker bar that puts everyone in danger. Where the locals will not leave you alone, try to intimidate you and then chase after you in your car in a failed attempted to get your friends number, after not leaving them alone all night. There is no security and the regulars made my female friends feel very uneasy and flat out scared for their well being. There was only one female bartender working and when a fight almost broke out she was basically defenseless, which sounds to happen semi regularly.

Honestly I’m surprised this place is allowed to be open and would suggest you spend your money...

I went on a Saturday and was surprised at how little the crowd was. I read some reviews and I think they are a bit over played out about how the company doesn’t brew their own beer. So what, like seriously relax and have fun because that’s what I was able to do. Mind you when I first got there I did wonder if there was a bar tender, she had just stepped away to use the restroom.. I did have to remind her what a White Russian consisted of which was a little surprising but not a big deal either. I had fun shooting some pool and throwing darts. I like the patio area outside and that I had a place to vape without blowing clouds in ppls faces. Overall I enjoyed myself and I would go there again. I saw a sign that said $4 bloody Mary’s on Sundays and mimosas so I think I’ll be going back...

I don't wrote much reviews, but with how much I was looking into this place I feel I need to write one. I gave it 3 starts not to change it's rating. It's a bar. That is it. Nothing more. If you want a beer, this is a place to go. If you want food, they have frozen pizza. It is that middle aged bar fly blue collar crowd. I'm 31 and was the youngest guy there by 15 years. Finding out this place has been open as Opinion for years but they haven't fixed their neon sign. I will never go back because if I want a beer I will just go to the strip club like a mile away.
