“Long review worth the read” Unfortunately saddle with health issues, I was on my way to the hospital. Dropped my daughter off at school and I heard a “ping”

Something with my front breaks. I limped along to the mechanic that did my front brakes about one month earlier.

I asked if they could look at it and they told me no but you can drop it off here and we can get to it in the next couple weeks. “Thanksgiving is one day away”

I asked him again you can’t come out and look at it? He told me no. I’m to weak to advocate for myself mind you I was on way to the hospital. They were sure glad to take my $1400 dollars not a month ago. All I could say was you disappointed me. Promptly I started looking for a shop. And that’s where I found “The Shop” Mind you I have been getting mailers the last 5 years I have called Newport home.

They told me they are busy, but let’s take a look at it. Right away they noticed my brake shoes were put on incorrectly. Both of them. They said we can pull it in and fix it.

No car I go to woodwinds for tests I get dropped off at home and The Shop calls. All done, I’m told, I said I’m too weak to walk but my son is going to swing by and pick it up.

This part is hard to talk about. When I asked the bill, I was told you don’t owe us a thing. They told me to have a Happy Thanksgiving.

This has never happened to me in my life. I feel that god really worked through those fine gentleman that lent me a hand. When you lose your physical strength it’s hard to come to terms with it.

They didn’t need to do that and they did. “They said it’s the right thing to do.”

Needless to say I found a new home for car repairs

I walked in and was treated with dignity and respect. I felt watched over frankly.

As far as the other place I won’t mention them. I know they have mouths to feed too. But like I said thoroughly disappointed.

I’d save your money going to the “other place” down the line.

I started bringing my car here a couple years ago, it was great until the last 6 months. Brought back again and again for valve gaskets that were leaking oil, causing the engine to smoke; replacement of the gaskets at least twice, still leaking oil and smoking. Then new valve covers and gaskets. Still smoking. Was told needed to replace intake manifold, pcv valve and hoses, still smoking and now engine having trouble turning over. Was told it was possibly 'x', another expensive part, I stopped there. $3400 dollars later, still smoking! Not to mention turn signals not working due to poor installation of shroud, for steering wheel column handle. Tried so many times to get this resolved, but had to take it to the dealership, who replaced the driver side gaskets, (!) spark plugs, and a fuel pump. Now running like a champ. The dealership bill cost me almost $3000 dollars more. Could have the signal pin fixed for $900 at the dealership - the Shop offered to fix that for free but I didn't want to take my car there again. I will turn them off manually until I can pay for it at the dealership.The fuel pump and spark plugs were not identified as a problem at any visit to this Shop in the last several months, and no way to know if the other items really needed replacement. I am beyond unhappy. I'm not working for the last 4 months and am pulling money from my 401 k...

I’ve been to many different auto shops because I’m low-income and find myself having to constantly replace my cars due to them being old. Since I am a young female, many shops look down on me and try to take advantage of me due to me looking like an inexperienced car owner. Turns out, when you have to keep purchasing and maintaining old cars, you actually do learn a lot about them. So I know when a shop is cheating me and trying to manipulate me to pay more than the value of their work. I’m here to say that at ‘The St Paul Shop LLC’, I was shown the same respect as other clients and didn’t feel at all as though I was being looked down on. In fact, they gave me a standard price and treated me no differently. I appreciated that. For a regular oil change, they had my car ready pretty quick and I was back on the road no longer than an hour and a half. I would definitely consider...
