First time visit on a recommendation and I'm sorry to say it was a disappointment. We need local places to be good and I want to support them. So, I leave this review.
First the good: main entrees (salmon, shrimp, fish and chips and meatball sub) for the 4 of us were fine, and for that reason I'll come back.
Tried the BBQ pork/ slaw egg roll. Creative idea for an appetizer that was prepared well.
Now for the not so good.
Mac and cheese is not supposed to be pasta with grated cheese thrown on top, is it? And, if I am to be upcharged for bacon, I expect more than a 1/4 slice crumbled on top.
Service. I realize places are short-staffed and patience is required. However, if there is to be a wait for food, tell us up front rather than after we've waited for 30 minutes that it will be a while longer.
Further, don't be in such a rush that clear orders are not written down properly and food is incorrectly served.
Also, if you are going to swap serving staff in the middle of the meal, let the table know. We waited a lonnng time for a check, which was brought by another waitress, as ours was nowhere to be found.
Finally, and this was incredulous to me: I ordered hushpuppies. 3 of the 4 was so rubbery hard it couldn't be eaten. When I pointed this out, using my fork to show this texture, the waitress STUCK HER FINGERS ON THE FOOD where I had tried to bite through it. I can't imagine this is proper at all. (To be fair, I did receive a bill adjustment for the hushpuppies being inedible)
Again, we want to support local places, but we need you to be good at...
Read moreOrdered to go for the first time today and called it in over the phone. The man took our order and we gave specifics of our meal and everything and he then told us 25 minutes and it would be ready. An hour and a half later we finally got our food which was by the way cold and half of the order wasn’t even what we ordered. When we showed up to pick up the food all they said was “oh it’s still being cooked there were a lot of orders in front of you” and then when we proceeded to ask how much longer it would take they said “I don’t know”. Literally would not tell us a time frame of how much longer it would take before our order was even ready. They didn’t even try to accommodate us and offer some money back on the order for our major inconvenience and then the order was half wrong after we paid for the order and even tipped them! This is unacceptable and as a business they should have treated the customer much better then they did given it was their own fault that it took so long to get our food because they claimed the computer didn’t send the order to the printer for them to prepare. We were excited to try out this business for the first time as we are new residents to Catawba county but I can tell you after this HORRIBLE experience we will not be back. Now I will be finding an alternative dinner because I can’t even eat “my plate” because it isn’t at all what I ordered and I don’t eat certain things which happens to be apart of the meal they gave me. Very irritated and upset with...
Read moreFound B-52s online while searching for local 'live music'. Excited to give it a try. Really wanted to love it, but there were some good, some not so good issues. For an 'after 8' live music situation, I must say I was somewhat disappointed in the vibe. The lighting was surgically bright! Dimming after 8 might be a wise move. The singer with guitar was great and we enjoyed his songs, although very, very loud amps for this small of a venue. The bar is beautiful and long. The bar stools are top quality as well. We were served right away by a very friendly bar tender. The cocktail I ordered was unfortunately poured light, and the tonic was flat. I mean very flat! But points for extra lime slices : ) We ordered some boneless bites to be tossed in a hot sauce. What we received was interesting. Tiny bits of scrap chicken, over cooked, tough and virtually no sauce at all. Seemed as if it was 'sprinkled' on top of a few of them, rather than having them all tossed liberally in a sauce. Not what we expected from boneless chicken bites. We enjoyed chatting with others at the bar. Seemed to be many that knew each other - a Cheers kind of place. And being a military family, we were impressed the the Wall of Heroes; an area with lots of photos of Veterans. We will surely go back and give it another try. The menu looks great with lots of interesting fare. Just trying to give an honest review for the first time...
