Let me tell you how unprofessional Newton Performing Arts Center are. I posted an honest comment on their show from Saturday October 23, 2021. They have recently deleted my comment and blocked me from commenting on anything else on their Facebook page. As you can see, I never pointed one finger to anyone. But I will now because the show is not worth $120.
The lady who played the doctor. Her bra straps were showing through the costume. Her hair was greasy They rehearsed their lines for only 2 weeks. A few of the actors were stumbling through them. Sherlock Holmes actor forgot some important lines to help us solve the case. Poor attempt at fake accents. 6 actors trying to portray 25 characters. It was too much for them to keep up with. They needed one more actor to help with minor roles. It was a small split stage with an estimated 12ft height x 3 ft length x 2 ft wide pillar in the middle of the stage. Our seats were in the far left corner of the room. And because of the setup. We missed several scenes. We were practically sitting on top of other guests to see. The food was cold. We were done with our salads before our drinks came. 2 waitresses for over 50 guests The chicken breast was maybe the size of golf balls and the vegetables were over...
Read moreThis place has "Good Time" written all over it! I was there last night, 8/21/21, for the John Berry concert. First of all, Marietta, who is the executive director, is so nice and kind and makes you feel welcomed and appreciated! Her staff is very nice and efficient as well! We were able to have a meet and greet before the show with John and his wife Robin, and that was wonderful! The opening act, James Glenn, was very good and personable as well! The John Berry concert was AWESOME and "off the chain"!! The seating is nice and cozy inside. After the concert, John visited with the fans in the lobby. He signed every autograph all the way down to the last one! He also took pictures with everyone who wanted them. He is truly an awesome guy! Newton PAC has snacks, soft drinks, and adult beverages readily available at the concession stand, or they will deliver them to your seat. Restrooms are nearby as well. This cozy arena is very charming and they have the wonderful staff to help you out. This was my first time here, but I will definitely be...
Read moreWhile at a KC and the Sunshine Band concert in Charlotte, a couple next to me spoke of the Newton Performing Arts Center and the great events they host. That night we got tickets for the Lovin' Spoonful. This is a wonderful venue for watching live performances. It is easily accessible and has plenty of free parking. It is clean and well organized. They sell food and drinks, including alcohol. Prices are substantially cheaper for drinks here than other sports and concert venues. And you can scan a code on the back of the seats in the theater to order and not have to stand in line or miss any of the performance. They deliver to your seat! With only 500 seats, the theater is intimate and cozy. The sound system is quality as well as the lighting and visuals. Everyone is super friendly too! And the really have curated a wonderfully diverse schedule of acts. I highly recommend you experience an event here, and check out the Novel Taphouse down the road. Just saw Def Leppards Journey last night....
