I encourage everyone to boycott the Burger King in Newton. This morning, my 7 year old daughter and I decided to stop in for breakfast. We were enjoying our time together, when one of their employees came up to me and asked in a very crass manner, "Do you drive a Toyota?" "Yes sir", I replied. "You need to move it, my my truck is here, and you're blocking my dock", referring to the delivery truck pulling in the parking lot. Now, I was parked in a parking space, no different than anyone else. So I replied, "Can you ask me nicely?" He said, "Yes", then just stared at me. So of course I stared back and said, "Then let's hear it." The guy begrudgingly mumbled, "forget it!", and retreated back to the kitchen. My daughter is sitting there trying to eat, so I kept my cool, and told her to eat while I talked to the supervisor. I was very nice to the supervisor, while at the same time letting her know how incredibly upset I was. She called her manager, Molly, who was very apologetic, but offered little comfort. Now the only thing I want is for this employee to lose his job. I wasn't looking for a free meal or coupons... or any kind of reparations, but I did expect for them to at least offer something, which they did not. So all this has got me asking: What happened to customer service? What happened to respect? What happened to treating others as you want to be treated? Sometimes I don't even recognize this world, as being the same one I was raised in. All we can do is teach our children to be better, and then HOPE TO GOD we have influenced them enough to care. I've been a customer of this Burger King for the last 14 years that I've lived in Newton. For 14 years I've watched it go down hill. Well, not anymore. I refuse to return to this location, not because of the rude employee, but because of the way the "leadership" handled the situation. They made me feel like it was unimportant to them. Well I work too hard for my money, to give it to a...
Read moreThis location has been on a steady decline for the past 10 years or so, following the departure of Ms. Wilfong and then eventually Ms. Williams, now the place appears to have taken a nosedive within the last quarter year.
My experience tonight (February 7, 2025) was bar none the most disrespected I have ever felt by a restaurant/store. To be encouraged by them in all forms of media to order from the BK app only to get there and have my PRE-PAID order held hostage by a night manager (I'm told his name is Mr. Flemming) and his crew of two, none of whom thought my order, time, or money was worthy of their service. After approximately 10 minutes of their neglect at the speaker box and pick-up window, I simply drove off. In my rearview mirror though, I could see this manager, returning to the parking lot -- which judging from the other complaints/comments that seems to be the happening hotspot for them! Oh, and silly me, I forgot to mention that when I pulled up HE was already OUTSIDE!!! Why run inside when you see a car if you had no intentions on filling any orders???
At this point, shut this place down. Wendy's on NC-10 got them beat, no competition. Heck, even the Burger King on NC-10 has a more professional staff. Clean appearances, polite, prompt, speedy, and accurate. This one can't even supply us service or be trusted to stay open at their ACTUAL operating hours. I can assure you this location and staff would...
Read moreThis location in the past has not been the greatest. But evidently they've got some new people working in here and some better management. This is exactly what places like this need. Good management. Good job and please keep it up. The workers were very friendly. I was overcharged with something and didn't even notice it and the person that was at the register came to me and canceled the order and rerunked it up correctly with the right amount. I would have never noticed that that he was very honest and it was appreciated. One of the young men came around the corner and had his phone in his hand and the manager told him to put the phone up and he immediately listened and got back to work. This is exactly what we need in these establishments. We need good management and good people working. I will definitely be back soon. And if the management there sees this message. I hope you read these comments and keep up the good work. You have a very...
