Cheng's Garden — Restaurant in Newton

The best Chinese in Newton. I went to the large restaurant next to Thor Labs for years and it use to be superior. Lately their food and customer service has taken a nose dive, I even got sick twice and required a trip to the ER. So I tried Chengs when it had first opened and the food was good but not great. However in the last few years , as the other place went downhill, Chengs has gotten better and better. The food is consistently great and the prices are good also. They could use one more person helping behind the counter but otherwise this is the winner in Newton by a long shot. Keep up the good work and keep improving and don’t get stale and you will be here...

The food here is good but the service is deplorable. The people who work there are consistently rude but today was the worst. We called and were asked to call back in 10 minutes. When we called back we were asked to call back in 20 minutes. We placed our order and were about to spend upwards of fifty dollars and the employee yelled at my girlfriend, told her she was taking too long, and to call back tomorrow. Im not exaggerating, I heard them yelling from the other side of the room. I understand that everyone is stressed right now, but they are ALWAYS rude. They have decent food, but so do many other restaurants that won't yell at you like they are doing...

I finally stopped in there today for a beef and broccoli combo with a large wonton soup. I'm so glad I did, the food was absolutely delicious and way better than I expected. I finally found my go to Chinese place. Everything was very good, not incredibly expensive and the staff was very kind and friendly. Clean restaurant too. I wish I could give a 10 star review. They were really that good. I will for sure be back much more often especially since they are less than 2 miles from my home. I wouldn't change anything at all about my order. It was...
