I use to like Jersey Dog. I love hot dogs and to have a place that's local to eat a variety of hot dogs while at work was a plus. But on my last two visits I've come across one very negative aspect to my visits. The kid, from what I can gather is the lady who works the counter son, is a very rude S.O.B. On one visit he's arguing with his mom and slamming equipment while cooking our order. Talk about making it a VERY awkward experience. Then on my second visit, his mom was in the back on the phone, I'm the only customer that's on line so the kid had to take my order. His attitude was horrible. He was all pissed off, at first I thought it was with me like I was bothering him with being a customer because I didn't know his mom was in the back on the phone. She comes rushing out the back after getting off the phone to come take my order. As I was telling the kid my order he walks away in the middle of me speaking and she apologizes to me because she wasn't at the counter. So I place my order and three other people walk in. These three place their orders and begin to wait as well. As I'm waiting my back is to the counter, then all of a sudden one of the other customers that is waiting tells me my order is ready. I turn around and the kid had finished my order, placed it on the counter and walked away and not saying anything about my order being ready. This kid is a very negative aspect to the experience of going to Jersey Dog. If you don't want to feel like you inconvenienced somebody by making them do their damn job then I would advise you to stay away. On another negative aspect of Jersey Dog, one that I didn't really notice was that they are a bit over priced. A can of soda is 1.25. Not a bottle of soda, a can. I paid a little over $13 dollars for a can of soda and 4 hotdogs. One of these hotdogs was a specialty dog and, 2 with kraut and ketchup, and 1 with onions. Oh and plus the .50 cent for the extra charge if you use a debit/credit card. If you want a good experience at a hot dog place with great food and a wonderful atmosphere and good prices then go to Davy's Dogs in Mt. Arlington. On my last visit there 5 hotdogs, 2 sodas, and fries and onion rings which they call sticks and stones was altogether a little over $20. Two of those hotdogs were specialty dogs, 3 with chili and cheese, sodas were...

Read moreWent here based on the suggestion of a former co-worker (who is also a Chef) and i'm so glad I did. If I had to say any negatives I could say the parking lot was small and the wait time was a bit longer than i'd expect...but that's truly it. Everything else was great.
I ordered an Italian Dog because I love them, and the BLT Dog with Dirty Jersey Sauce based on her recommendation. The cost of these were right in line with any other specialty dogs you'd get from places like this in Jersey so that was a plus. The Italian Dog was massive and delicious. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the flavor of peppers and onions throughout was excellent.
The BLT Dog was even better! I wasn't super excited about a dog with lettuce and tomato wrapped in bacon with a spicy mayo...but I was wrong, and i'm happy to admit it. I'd suggest this one to anyone trying this place for the first time, and i've certainly not...
