I stopped in to Johnny's on a holiday they pretty busy for it being a 11am on Monday. We were placed on a wait, the host quickly moved the wait down, and we were sat in about 10 minutes I ordered the Buffalo Mac & Cheese. It was very good, not overly spicy but had a lot of blue cheese crumbles in it, good for my tastes. The dish itself wasn't very big. My wife had the "Gone Bananas" dish which was basically banana bread French toast with a chocolate drizzle, sliced bananas, and whipped cream. It was very rich in taste, but delicious. Our Server was a young woman by the name of Liza. I was very impressed with her attentiveness and courtesy, and I would recommend that if she's available ask for her. Overall: I would recommend this diner based on price, service and taste of food. Cons, there is no parking, bring quarters to feed the meter. Keep up the good work :)

Amazing atmosphere and has a very vibrant interior. Service is also very fast and friendly. There was a line as well during breakfast and that’s how you know this place is good. They do all the classics very well. Since its my first time I always like to test the waters with classic breakfast items. The eggs were perfectly cooked to what I asked. The sausage links had a slight char and crunch with a succulent meaty chew. The bacon was perfect too. Crispy but not oily at all. The only gripe I had was with the pancakes. This may just be a personal preference but in my opinion, the pancakes were a bit on the heavy and dense side. I prefer it to be light and airy so it soaks up the syrup. Other than that everything else was amazing! I would no doubt come back. The other items on the menu are enticing me to come back and try them.

We had a lovely breakfast! We went on a weekday so it wasn’t too busy, got to sit outside. Our server was attentive and checked frequently if we needed more water, coffee, etc. I had the “18 Wheeler” which featured a generous portion of home fries and three eggs, everything was cooked nicely. The pancakes were fluffy and the Canadian bacon was tasty and thick cut. The home fries were half-cut small potatoes which I really enjoyed, they seemed fresh. The coffee was also great: not watery which is sometimes the case at diner-style restaurants. I should add the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of food, service, and portions. Looking forward to trying their lunch and dinner food next time.

OUTDOOR HEATED DINING! Johnny's is a great diner - completely packed in the Before Times, and now in the pandemic the carefully spaced outdoor tables are still filled. Waiters wear masks and provide sanitizer wipes (appreciated - it lets me be as scrupulous with cleaning as I like). Good standing heater between tables - I had on a dress on a cold day so grabbed a blanket from my car. They have standard diner food (omelettes, burgers, donuts, salads) with some nice hipster touches (homemade donuts, nitro cold brew coffee, craft beer), and Jewish inflected items that fit the neighborhood (fried potato latkes, Israeli salad).

First, I really liked the “old school” diner vibes. Felt like back in the 80’s. Food was very good. The sweet potatoes hash were very good except I could have done without the greens. Staff were pretty friendly. Bathrooms were very clean and fresh smelling. The receipt is for 2 people, which I found a bit pricey compared to Sandwich Works around the corner, which is half the cost, nonetheless, Would I come back? Yes, I would. Parking in the area is metered, I mean, EVERYWHERE. Use the PASSPORT APP from the App Store to pay for parking. It’s a lot easier. It’s like $1.35 for an hour and a half.

Had breakfast and it absolutely did not disappoint. The atmosphere is a fun, welcoming and cozy vibe. The server did an okay job just seemed a little distracted. My wife and I still had quite a bit of food on our plates when the server asked if we were ready to go. We had omelettes which were very good sized, well cooked and a plentiful amount of filling. All the ingredients were fresh, seasoned well and cooked nicely. Had a side of bacon that was not overly crisp which is just how I like it. Johnnys has been a staple in Newton Center for a long time and with very good reason
