Picked my husband up from second shift and decided to stop in at Blue Colony. It’s been a long time favorite, however something is definitely different and not in a good way. I ordered an omelet with sausage and cheese… the sausages tasted and looked like cut up Vienna Sausages from a congealed can. It was terrible. The waitress insisted that they were “breakfast sausages”. The breakfast potatoes weren’t very tasty either. Just overall disappointed and feel like I wasted money that could have been spent on better food. My husband… he’s a Philly cheesesteak guy. It’s so difficult to make a Philly cheesesteak that this man doesn’t enjoy… yet somehow Blue Colony managed to! The steak they used looked grey & wasn’t flavorful… the bread was burnt (see photo). We paid the extra $1.75 for onion rings that fell apart as he picked them up. $17 plus the extra for onion rings… NOT WORTH IT. Our total bill with a not very well deserved $5 tip came to $37.90. Overall very disappointed. & extremely hesitant to return in the future. 😞 I could have bought 6 breakfast sandwiches from my local deli for that amount and had one nearly every morning of the week. This is depressing. Prices seem to be really high, quality of food really low and service was sub par. She most stood around. Not once did she come back to check on us after dropping our food off to us. We eventually just flagged her down to bring us a container and our check, she brought the container and forgot the check. Then when it’s time to pay, you can’t tip in private which as someone who has been a waitress previously is not comfortable standing there having someone basically quiz you on if you’re leaving a tip and if so how much. I had to tell her my tip before she even ran my card. Not a comfortable situation for most people. (Please don’t take this as I wouldn’t have tipped at all, that’s not at all what I’m saying… all I’m saying is the $5 I did leave, truly wasn’t earned and neither my carefree husband nor I were satisfied with the service… the food was a huge let down. Several hours later: please note that both my husband and I have had horrible stomach aches all day since eating these meals… (we each tried the other, so we don’t know if it was just one or what) neither of us have been able to even eat anything else all day. Be careful out there!

My family and I were on our way back from PA on a small vacation. We arrived at the diner at around 7pm on a Monday. The gentleman that was standing at the front hostess stand. My wife said 3 please as he walked right in front of her with the menus without saying a word. We followed him to the table and he just walked away. My wife tried to say thank you but he just completely ignored us. Just really rude little man. The woman waitress came to our table like 20 minutes after we sat down. She asked what we would like to drink so we all got water. the water was so incredibly bad we could not drink it. We waited for her to return for our order. After another 15 mins she returns and asks what we were going to order. We decided on the appetizer sampler including wings, mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers. I also ordered a bowl of chili. My chili came out first I immediately noticed the chili did not look right. The cheese was almost an inch thick on top of the Soup. There was so much oil in the soup. It was inedible to say the least, I will attach a picture at the bottom of this review. well that was only half the story. The trio plate came out with the chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and chicken fingers over french fries. The first thing we noticed was there was a long black hair going across our food. I tried to get the waitresses attention from across the room that I needed to see her and she stood all the way across the room asking me what I needed. I said I need to see you for a second. try not to scream the restaurant that's here in my food. I showed her the hair and she replaced the food with the exact same dish. the wings were so old that they were dried out the mozzarella were not fully cooked inside. The chicken fingers were not that bad, but there was only three of them. This was a terrible experience by far the worst diner I've ever eaten in. the people that work there are so unhappy is a very depressing place to eat. the guy at the front desk I believe is the owner has the worst attitude of any business owner I've ever seen in my life. Save your money save your time and save yourself from getting sick eating at this place.

Amazing and delicious. Dinos like this used to be all over connecticut, southern connecticut. That is, but after fake covid, closing everything down. Now, these darners aren't open twenty four hours.Except this one!!!! The pastries are huge and amazing. They have great challah bread huge loaves and delicious. Everything i've ever had there has been wonderful, and the owners are very kind. And truly want their customers to be happy.I suggest if you're on eighty four in or around newtown, connecticut stop at exit ten.I believe route six newtown and check it out. It's amazingEspecially if you're traveling at night!!!! I apologize about the photos and the food being partly eaten before I took them, but I was so excited when I saw the food and by the way, that's duck, half of a duck plus a salad plus potato plus vegetables plus bread, which is the challah bread by the way and the matza ball soup, the best matzaball soup.I've ever had for eighteen dollars, and something cents. And the grilled cheese was perfect. My wife had that. The gyro was deliciousSaid the friend that sat across from me, who, when I said, there's a diner in such and such place, he said, why would I go anywhere else?I have the blue colony diner. He lives in a town right near there. And it's true!!!

Exit 10 off 84. Easy on & off. Breakfast or dinner 24-7. We were just there 2-19-23. Staff is always welcoming. My question to the management - in the past 120 days is there new cooks or new management? Reason I ask is my 2 past experiences at this restaurant has not been good. This was my "to go" place to eat when travelling. This time my food was not good. I ordered meatloaf mashed potatoes, coleslaw and hot tea. My friend had a Swiss Burger and coffee in a redicilously giant cup. The meatloaf and mashed potatoe were room temperature and meatloaf was raw inside the center of the meat. I asked the waitress to take it to the cook so they will know not to sell meatloaf to another person without cooking more. She argued with me and said not raw. Waitress asked me if wished to order something in place of the meatloaf which was nice of her to ask. I was turned off and did not replace the meal. She said she would need to charge me for the salad. My friends burger was $14 and the final bill was $38. I seriously think she charged me for the whole meal? I think this place has a great location and no competition around. I'm sad about my experience and understand it's hard since Covid. It's been hard on all of us with rising prices and finding reliable employees. Can't restaurants seek to "rise above it" and serve a nice tasty hot meal? Willing to eat out, if it's good. So 😞 ...
