Shocked by the reviews compared to what we thought. Out of all the pizza places in the area, this was probably the worst and by good measure.
We were really excited to try this place based on all the good reviews. We ordered a half cheese and half pepperoni pizza, mac n cheese bites and garlic knots.
The pizza was just bad tasting. The sauce was gross. It was bland and sweet at the same time, yuck. Also, too much cheese and that was very bland as well. Yes, there can be too much cheese. You can tell this because when you get it home, half of it slide off and was in bunches. It wouldn't be an issue really if the cheese tasted good, but like I said very very bland. The dough was ok, nothing really to complain about there. But for whatever reason, the pizza just did not taste good! The pepperoni itself seemed to be of good quality, so I will give them that.
The mac n cheese bites.. while I know most people wont care about them, were undercooked and need to hit the deep fryer. I am not sure if they are baking them in the oven, but you can make better ones at home.
Garlic knots... now this is something that I normally dont like anywhere, but to give credit, these were very good!
Sorry, but my wife and I really have no clue where all these good reviews are coming from. Perhaps we had an off night but out of all the pizza places in the area, this has been the worst.
I will most likely give it another try some point down the road and I will update my review at that time if I feel it...
Read morePizza is very good for this area of Fairfield County that typically lags way behind New Haven and NYC style pizza. Crust was a nice blend of slightly crispy and with the right anount of chewiness. Cheese had fresh flavor and held to the crust perfectly. Sauce had a slightly tangy flavor without being too sweet (can't stand when the sauce taste sweet). They also have a nice selection of sandwiches (locals call these grinders), paninis, salads and appetizers.
All and all I would recommend giving Project Pizza a try if you value good pizza or just need to satisfy your hunger with a quick slice (yes they sell by the slice). My family and I will certainly be back for more!
Just a quick heads up, there are no tables. There are just 2 small bars with room for about 8 people total at any given time so ordering out is probably your best bet if you're getting more...

You can tell right away that Project Pizza has a new owner who really cares about the place. The restaurant feels clean and friendly as soon as you walk in. This care shows in the food, and everything we ate was delicious.
The pizza crust was perfect-both crispy and soft. We tried a slice of the Chicken Bacon Ranch, and all the flavors worked great together. The Shrimp Alfredo was delicious with a creamy Alfredo sauce.
We also ordered a steak and cheese grinder. It was loaded with tender steak and lots of melted cheese on a fresh roll.
The owner works hard to make sure all his customers are happy, which makes the experience even better. Because of the great food and friendly service, we highly recommend Project Pizza and will definitely be...
