Taco John's — Restaurant in Nicholasville

Update: Went back a few nights ago. Took over 30 min in drive-through with just about 6 cars in line, meat in taco salad was cold and no salsa again. Never any salsa!! Just mild sauce packs that are as hot as tacobell hot sauce. I got taco salad 2 separate days and there was no salsa both times. Eating taco salad with no salsa is very DRY and not enjoyable. Why isnt the crew preparing more salsa cups?? Are they doing it at all?? Night of opening and a week later: I came here tonight and a couple nights ago. Last time here, we left cause drive through is SLOW, like 40 minutes slow. Tonight we're here right now and once again, drive-through is extremely and unjustifiably slow. We've been here for 40+ MINUTES and only 7 cars have been served. WHAT ARE YOU WORKERS DOING IN THERE RUINING THIS PLACE FOR US? Taco John's, get rid of this staff or you're going to fail. 2 cars have left this line and we're about to again too. Drove all the way from Lexington cause we loved taco johns in TN. It's 9:33PM, check your cam footage of the staff. A tall big man and a woman standing at register doing nothing and no one is in there at register ordering. Lobby says it's closed. Another thinner man with glasses leaning on a wall doing nothing behind the guys at drive through window (now he's walked to the lobby and got himself a drink and drinking it, looking at his phone.) Your crew is doing NOTHING except for the Latin guy at the window and whoever that is next to him. Last time here, that same thinner guy with glasses who got a drink just now on his cellphone was also doing nothing then too as well as that woman. Please, the community wants taco John's but we are begging you to replace this crew cause this is not working, you are getting screwed. Wake up before your dream is wrecked by this bad crew. Just look at the cams.. look how long everyone is in line right and all day. This is not ok. It's 9:49pm now. They have the lights on the menu in drive through completely off. An hour later for food with them in there doing nothing. We will not be back till this crew is changed. BYE. Not worth it. Hello

I do not normally post but was disappointed in the service received. The food was ok, ordered meat and potato burrito combo.

My disappointment was regarding lack of attention to detail and maintenance items.

The restaurant was almost dead aside from one patron eating and one in line ahead of me.

The store appears new or remodeled and updated. The staff were joking around and having fun and dancing to songs behind the counter - no issues.

Unfortunately, the bathrooms were nasty, and the floors had debris all over and dust on baseboards.

The staff was mostly friendly, just sad that no one took the initiative to keep a new building looking that way by custodial/housekeeping upkeep.

Finally got to give Taco John's a try. Decided to wait 3 weeks for business to die down and for them to iron out any opening pains. The service was fine and staff was friendly. The food however was quite mediocre. The potato oles didn't have any seasoning other than salt. Not really interested in plain tater tots with my Mexican meal, but I guess the nacho cheese helped. I tried a Beef crunch burrito which was on the smaller side and tasted like simple Ortega seasoning that I make at home. Also tried a grilled chicken burrito which was overall bland. Nothing I ate made me want to eat it again. Maybe their breakfast is good, but I'm not sure it's worth even giving a shot. I'll stick...
