Dealing with ignorant staff is one thing and maybe a little forgivable but rude and ignorant is just unacceptable. I was very specific with what we wanted and had even explained it was our first time ordering. First I was overcharged and when I questioned how did 2 drinks equate to $25, I was challenged by being asked if I wanted to inspect the receipt. I checked the receipt and they had indeed charged me for an extra drink. The senior staff who came out to the refund was visibly annoyed and no apology was offered for THEIR mistake. They refunded me the extra drink by cash but for the value of the drink and not the tax which was about $0.89. When I pointed it out to the staff who had served me, she was clueless and didn’t know what to do. So I said to leave it and just put it into the tip. When the drinks were served it was clearly not the fresh brewed tea we had requested and we returned our drinks and said that we couldn’t drink it and explained that we had specifically asked about how their drinks were made. The same senior staff who was annoyed about my refund was incredibly rude in her exchange to me and laid the blame on me. When I questioned her about my tax not being refunded, she dared to say “you want your 50 cents back, we can give it back” but of course made no attempt. There was no attempt to refund the rest of the money and I didn’t want to waste my time nor energy with the her ignorance and utter rudeness. They didn’t even know how to do a proper refund when they overcharged me. Don’t waste your time. The only saving grace was the staff who had just started her shift who apologised and understood what had gone wrong with the order. She deserves to keep her job. The initial server could probably do better with training but the senior staff...
Read moreWent last week, because it was finally sunny and felt like spring. There was a line but the 3 young ladies working the counters were fast and efficient. The store was cute like all the other bubble tea places.
The problem was that the tapioca balls weren’t fresh. I took a sip of mine as I walked out the door and by the time I got to the edge of the sidewalk I tasted the tapioca balls had a slight stale flavor to them, and a tiny hit of sourness. I got the Thai iced tea flavor, so, willing to attribute the slightly off flavor to the tea, I took a sip without the tapioca. The smoothie itself tasted fine, and it was the tapioca for sure. I also noticed later that the tapioca has started to harden quickly in the cold drink, indicating that it’s been some hours since the balls were boiled.
They don’t refrigerate the balls with the flavored juice in it, and the tapioca balls weren’t refrigerated either, which is common. But it was still about 10 degrees warmer in the store than the cool outside temperature last Saturday and they really should taste test and dump the tapioca balls every hour. Food safety is iffy in the spring when temperatures are warming up and in transition.
By the time I figured out the balls were surely stale and on their way to going bad, I was in my car and didn’t feel like taking it back to the store for a $4.21 drink. I didn’t eat the rest of the tapioca, just sipped the frozen drink and hoped to not have a...
Read moreIf I could give this place a 0 star rating I would. I walked into the store with some of my friends just wanting some boba. Nobody was standing at the register and it took about 5 minutes for somebody to show up. The worker finally showed up and barely said hi. She asked us what we wanted to order. My friend ordered her drink and was charged 10 dollars for a small drink that costs 6 dollars. It should be around 8 dollars. (Tax should be like 2 dollars max.) The worker kept the receipt and never asked if my friend wanted her receipt. It was my turn to order with my other friend and we ordered a large drink that is also around 6 dollars. The total was 15 dollars! I wanted the receipt and she just ignored me. I’m thinking the worker added a tip for herself because whenever I go here they always give me the receipt and show me the option if I want to tip when paying. This time the option wasn’t there. We payed and got our drinks. We sat down and on the wall by our seat there was a large brown stain on the wall. It looked like a drink spilled and not cleaned up. That disgusted me. When finishing my drink, the more I got to the end of the drink, the more chunkier and distasteful it became. The tapioca was also frozen. Whenever I go here, the drinks are always fully blended and there isn’t anything frozen at the bottom or chunky. I am honestly very disappointed in...
