I have never written a post on disappointments, I have only rated accordingly ( by stars) from my account but after this experience I felt no one else should go through this ....... so putting it out here.
I can safely say this was the most disappointing restaurant experience I've had so far.
We were a group of five and ordered the Chicken Majestic and the 7 Spices Platter. We asked for the bill right after receiving the food — which should give you an idea of how the experience was going.
First, the Chicken Majestic came out in about five minutes. First impression: it looked steaming hot and aesthetically pleasing. But the moment we tasted it, we realized it was about 80% flour with barely any chicken inside.
Enter “the waitress” (possibly the rudest person I’ve encountered at a restaurant). She came over to ask if everything was alright. I politely mentioned that the Chicken Majestic was not up to the mark — too much flour coating, very little chicken, and nothing like how it’s traditionally made. Her response? A flat-out, “This is how Chicken Majestic is.” Although the Hyderabadi in me died a little inside, I just nodded in shock.
Still hopeful, we waited for the 7 Spices Platter (basically a kebab platter) to arrive. Moment of truth: It was served. I took a bite of the green kebab (I no longer have the heart to call it Hariyali Kebab) — and it was raw. Undercooked chicken, tasting of raw ginger-garlic paste. Just thinking about it now still makes me feel sick.
“The waitress” came over again to ask how the food was (by now, this felt more like harassment through raw meat). We explained the situation again, and were met with a dismissive nod — the kind that screams “Ek chutki(kebab) ki keemat tum kya jaano.”
To top it off, we were made to wait and stand at the counter to pay — no discussion, no apology — and ended up paying the full $81. The entire experience, from the food to the attitude to the payment process, was totally unprofessional and deeply disappointing.
One veggie person in our group ordered veg noodle and veg Manchurian ( not sure if I can comment on it but he couldn't even complete one Manchurian ball from the bowl)
You'll be able to guess who "The waitress" is if you've read this and still decide to get harassed and if she is still working at this place.
PS: Best thing we had here was Thumbs up ( it is an Indian drink similar to coke but...
Read more7 Spices: An Unforgettable Taste of Hyderabad! If you're searching for an authentic Hyderabadi culinary experience, look no further than 7 Spices. This restaurant is an absolute gem that truly lives up to its reputation. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special, and it exceeded all expectations. We dived into a fantastic spread, starting with a comforting corn soup. Every dish that followed was a flavor explosion: the Majestic Chicken, Apollo Fish, Szechuan Chicken, and Chilli Prawns were all cooked to perfection. The soft noodles and garlic naan were excellent accompaniments to the rich mutton masala. And of course, their biryani was simply outstanding—a true highlight! What truly sets 7 Spices apart is the impeccable balance of quality and quantity. Each bite was packed with authentic flavors, transporting us straight to the streets of Hyderabad. The portions are generous without ever compromising on taste or presentation. Every dish was rich, aromatic, and meticulously prepared, showing an impressive attention to detail. To top it all off, the Irani chai at the end was the perfect finisher – a delightful, aromatic conclusion to a wonderful meal. It's rare to find food this good at such cost-efficient prices, making it incredible value for the experience you get. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Hyderabadi food with no compromise on quality, quantity, or value. Whether you're dining in or taking away, you'll feel like you're getting more than what you paid for. We'll definitely be...
Read moreWe came to Seven Spices after a cousin’s recommendation, and it was worth the hour drive. I’m usually let down by desi restaurants, and was pretty skeptical but this one was genuinely good. The Indo-Chinese dishes were delicious; the noodle soup especially hit the spot. Wish they had a large family size option too. It was spicy but sooo good. Fried rice was decent, the chicken Schewan noodles were soo tasty (a little spicier than expected), and the Apollo fish was excellent.
The BBQ platters were tender, flavorful, and had that Hyderabadi tang that ran through much of the food. I didn’t care for the tangy bbq. It actually felt off. To me the bbq platter should be smoky, spicy and flavorful with a tangy chutney on the side. But I think that’s how Hyderabadi bbq is suppose to be, and it was more of a personal preference. Regardless, it was tender and flavorful. We ordered one bbq platter and then ordered another because the first one was not enough. The mint chutney was so yum, I feel like it could be a savory drink on its own.
Irfan, the new owner came by to introduce himself and generously had us try the biryani on the house. Our waitress, Sindhu, was wonderful hardworking, kind, and attentive.
Overall, flavorful food with authentic indo Chinese taste and warm service. We’ll...
