Play Book Ultra Sports Bar — Restaurant in Niles Township

We have been frequenting this place for many years and have never had any major issues. While there are always minor things that could be improved, the staff is generally friendly, and the entertainment is excellent. However, a few days ago, we had an unpleasant experience that has made us reconsider returning.

As usual, a group of us, several married couples, went out and had a great time, leaving a good tip and enjoying ourselves. As we were leaving, our wives went to the restroom, and we waited for them near the exit. At that moment, a security guy approached us and told us we had to leave, even though there were still 20-30 people behind us finishing their drinks. We thought he was joking, but he was very serious. We politely explained that we were waiting for our wives to come out of the restroom, but he said he didn’t care and then physically pushed my friend without any reason. I stepped in between them, and just then, our wives arrived, so we decided not to escalate the situation and left.

I believe this will be our last visit to this place unless the manager takes action and addresses the behavior of the security guard. Security personnel are there to de-escalate situations and maintain control, not to provoke problems. I won’t comment on other actions of this particular guard, but such behavior tarnishes the reputation of the club, and it’s unfortunate that these...

Security has not really fair attitude to all the customers, if you come to this place at night around 9-10 PM, on Saturday, you can receive an invite such as: "We reach a capacity, and we are not letting anyone in", you can wait for 10-15 min and see, when people leaving the place one after other, and ask questions "can I enter now?" since some people left, then you can get a response "door will be locked now, and we are not letting anyone in, sorry", then you can wait for 5 min more, and you will see, that security will let in other guests for whatever reason, even if "the door will be locked, and we are not letting anyone in", and you can ask, "can I come in?", even if I have friends inside, you will get a response "no", since there is no place to sit in, even thou, later they will let other groups of 5 or six people go in, while telling you, only 4 people could sit at the table, and of course, there is no place at the bar. Hope this review will help change the requirements to people they let in, and at least be more...

I threw my mom a retirement party here a few weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience. While they don't have a private room, they had an area with its own separate bar and multiple booths and tables sectioned off for us. I worked with Lukas to plan the menu and to work out some logistics with setup. He was very helpful and made excellent food recommendations. Communication was spotty via email so I would recommend calling if you're planning a party.

When we arrived, most of the tables were high which were difficult for the older guests. The staff was quick to replace a number of them with regular tables. Food came out hot and fast. So many people complimented me on the choice of venue for atmosphere and good eats. 5 stars for the staff... from the manager to the hostess, waiters and bartenders.
