My boyfriend loves Penn Station and I have never had it. I went in to get our food and told them prior to ordering to please make sure to bag the fries separately from the rest of the food due to me having a peanut allergy. I proceed to order and the entire time, the cashier did not once smile and acted like I was bothering HER. The other employees seemed like they'd rather be elsewhere. While ordering still, a couple left and one of the employees told them to have a good night. I order, proceed to get my drinks and waited across the counter at the bar stools where they could see me as I waited for my order. They call my name, and I replied with a "thank you" as I was putting my phone back in my purse. The employee looked me dead in the eyes and again called my name louder with a tone as if I wasn't moving quick enough for her. I have osteoarthritis which causes me a lot of pain and swelling, so no, I don't walk at top speed. However, I wasn't going super slow either. This was the first time going to Penn Station and I was treated very poorly. I go to leave and wasn't given the same treatment and respect as the prior customers had when leaving. Get to the car and began passing the food out. I asked for my 6" to be cut in half when I ordered, however, it had not been. After the wacky I was treated, I wasn't very happy at this point, so my boyfriend goes in to have them cut it. The sub was for my children so I needed it cut for that reason. He goes in and he was greeted pleasantly. He told them the situation and they first said they wouldn't do it due to store policy that once a sandwich leaves the store, they won't do anything else with it unless tossing and remaking one. He told them it was asked to be cut during the order. 2 employees were hesitant to cut it when he finally said, "well just hand me the knife and I'll do it, but we just spent $32 in here and after the way my girlfriend was treated, we should have just gone somewhere else." The woman who took my order came over to him, apologized and cut the sandwich. I have never ate there before and the food was delicious, but I don't think I will visit this particular store again. If you're having a bad day or really don't want to be there that day or even work at that job, you still should treat your customers with respect and hospitality if they...
Read moreI’ve been coming here since my high school days. It’s been a staple ever since. I absolutely love their food, the menu selections, the atmosphere, the service etc for the last decade+, but the last few visits have just been ok overall and to the same standards I’m so used to. I was great friends with 2 of the mangers over the years that knew me by name, made sure my food was made great and fresh, and always strived to give me the best overall experience possible. Since then, I’ve seen a hit or miss decline each visit. The consistency is lacking and you never know if you’ll get a great meal or a lacking one. For the price we pay and the distance/travel, I wish the consistency and quality was strong every time. We drive 30 mins out of our way, sometimes just for the Penn Station fix! But the last few times, our fries have been dark and overcooked, very thin and more of bits and ends rather than full fries. My pizza sub despite asking for extra pizza sauce is usually dry and more ham and cheese than anything. My husband’s Italian sub is drenched in sauce and oils/vinegars, to where we’ve actually had the brown bag fall apart and food proceed to fall on the floor. The lemonade is more water than lemonade, usually very sour. But other times we have a great visit, wonderful and tasty meal, and great service and friendly workers to deal with. I just wish it could be this way every time. Last few visits have been...
Read moreI have always loved Penn Station and we go to this one a couple of times a month. Tonight they made my sandwich wrong. I got it home and realized it had something on it I cannot have. I took it back and asked for it to be remade. I was frustrated, but never raised my voice. The girl making my sandwich walked down and was whispering to the girl who puts toppings on and they both laughed and then she walked back to the grill to make my sandwich. When my sandwich came out and ready to have toppings put on I was watching the process. The girl turned and stared at me then turned her back to block my view as she continued to work on my food. At that point I chose not to take that sandwich and requested a refund. I have no idea what she was laughing about and hiding while making my food. I did speak to the manager who apologized and was the only one who apologized. I understand help is hard to find but I do not trust them making food. Who knows what they will do to your food if they don’t like you or...
