Tried to get seated here with my mobility assistance dog (a yellow lab clearly vested as a service dog). I was told when I walked in the door that they don’t allow dogs. I told them that they had to, it is the law. The man greeting said it didn’t matter if it was the law, people don’t like it. I told them people may not like other races and religions, but the same civil rights laws that say they cant discriminate based on race and religion say they can’t deny me service based on disability. I asked if he would deny someone service based on skin color if other customers didn’t like it. He just laughed at me. Even after another server came up and told him he had to seat me he still kept going, telling me people don’t like allowing service dogs into restaurants. He even went so far as to make up a story about people previously walking out because of a service dog, leaving their food and not paying. If this was true, wouldn’t he already know that he has to allow service dogs? At this point I didn’t trust any service or food I would be getting and left. So, I guess they got what they wanted, they didn’t have to subject themselves or their able bodied guests to dining with someone with a disability. I wanted to support a local business, but I ended up going to a chain up the road where I was served no problem and complimented on my...
Read moreAfter eating at an authentic restaurant in California, I had a desire to find one near my home. And here was one, El Palenque, a promising diner with good reviews. I found upon visiting, however, that the food was sub par. Not bad, mind you, just less quality than that of, say, Rio Grande, which is a stone's throw from this restaurant. I tried the Wet Burrito and the Arroz Con Pollo. The wet burrito was OK, having some flavor, and an interesting combination of meats, however still not a superb dish. The Arroz Con Pollo here is a lot less flavorful than that of Rio Grande, and I believe there was an under cooked piece of chicken in mine. The Horchata was a saving grace, however, being delicious and sweet as it should be, and the only Horchata one can find in all of Noblesville. Overall I think it is an OK place, but not much more, and would not recommend taking time to visit unless you absolutely have to have...
Read moreMy husband & I have eaten here numerous times. Each time the food has been decent. The place has no atmosphere but the service was always good. Until today. Our meals were so salty they were inedible. We were both starving when we sat down so I was crushed at having to send the meals back. We very politely told the server (who turned out to be the owner - apparently) and sent the meals back. He came back to our table, told me he'd tried one of my shrimp & there was nothing wrong with the food. The proceed to argue with us. I was so shocked as I've never experienced this atrocious behavior in any restaurant I've been to let alone one we've frequented. We will never go back there and will tell all our friends and family to never go there again either which they won't. I hate to leave a bad review knowing so many restaurants are struggling because of Covid but I would hate what happened to use today to happen to...
