REVIEW EDIT!!! My step dad wanted to take the family out to dinner and he chose this god forsaken place!!! He said he saw all kinds of cars parked there for lunch and thought there might have been a change in management.. lol was he ever wrong!! Same people same issues…. Food is absolutely disgusting and inedible…. The items on the buffet looked like they had been sitting there for 3 days straight and constantly adding water to the dishes which makes them bland and crusty. Nothing good, nothing…. And the price has gone up tremendously. For 2 seniors, 1 adult and 1 5 year old was 47.00!!! Nothing was edible!! The only thing my son could eat was the prepackaged ice cream they have in the freezer. Oh, and they changed the soda machine and it actually looks half way decent. The only two positive things I can say. Sorry but if you want to waist money on food my dog wouldn’t eat come here. The worker are nice I actually feel sorry for them. There is just no pride whatsoever in this establishment.
This place is disgusting in many ways!!! First of all the price per person. They charge my 5 year old son almost as much as an adult price, he barely eats anything!!! The prices have also increased since new ownership. Second the restaurant. The place is absolutely filthy!! There is always old food all over the floor and dirty plates on the tables. The bathrooms aren’t much better. Now to the food. The food is deplorable. They have a buffet and they have a separate menus to order alacart. The buffet food is always cold and hard. It looks like it’s been sitting out for most of the day. They come around and add water to moisten it but it makes it worse. The sauces never taste right. They have a distinct chemical flavor and the crab Rangoon is nasty. It taste like someone dumped a bunch of sugar in the cream cheese. The desert selection consists of different types of dried out cake and fortune cookies. They replaced the ice cream machine with single serving ice cream cups and they are freezer burnt to heck. I can’t say anything positive about...
Read moreSit a spell, I'm going to tell you the story of the hairy chicken.
I was a tourist to Indianapolis staying with a friend. We both had a hankering for greasy Chinese food. Popped on Google and looked up the most generic sounding buffet name. What is more generic than super China buffet? Nothing. So off we went.
We get to the buffet, located in a run down part of an already dead strip mall. Bad sign #1. We get in and the hostess does not look up at us. My friend and I are really healthy Americans and most buffets press the silent alarm for the kitchen staff to make more food. Not her. We also pay before we eat, which I've never experienced. Odd but I'm from out of state so I let it slide. We get seated and I notice the ice bucket for drinks. There is not a scoop for the ice, a patron has to put there unwashed hand in there with their probably unwashed glass to get the unwashed ice. Bad sign #2.
We proceed to get food, I stick to the safe bets, meat. I eat the general tso's and it's tso-tso. I move to sweet and sour chicken. I move the onions away, I did not trust the vegetables, and I notice something on a piece of chicken. I thought it was onions and tried to move it with my fork, it was attached to the chicken. I pull it out and it was wrapped in the breading. It was a hair! Which I also exclaimed. My friend is shocked. Stating fruitlessly "I don't know what to do." All the while I laughed. The hostess walked by and my friend called to her, showing her the hair.
The hostess picked up the hair and said the worst thing a restaurant worker could say " I don't know what this is." She then went back and talked to the workers in the hair salon in the back. A person came back with the hostess and said he didn't know what it was. Where did this mystery stained come from. Did they accidently use the shampoo station to deep fry? I'll never know. I do know the hostess tried to offer a discount. Thankfully my friend said we would just take our money back and he said he would not do anything to ruin thier business more than they are. I did not make...
Read moreI am a firm believer that everyone should try something once and form their own opinion about things, however that doesn’t always stop me from sharing my own on things. My family and I love Chinese buffets, we are Asian-American and love the Americanized Chinese foods. We’ve been to this restaurant a couple times and have always had varying experiences. The food itself wouldn’t be horrible , but unfortunately nothing ever seems to be fresh. Food can be undercooked or overcooked or just plain hard from sitting under the heat lamp all day. They raised their prices and it is most certainly not worth what you wind up paying. I’ve watched them just add hot water to items that are dried out and most likely old. Our most recent visit some of the food legitimately smelled like wet dog. I held my breath while trying to eat what was on my plate in fear of being charged for food taken and not eaten, per their take only what you can eat sign. They will charge for excessive waste. The floor in the bathroom was so sticky too that I felt like I was getting ready to slide right out of my shoes with every step. Overall I think everyone could have a different experience but I just thought I...
