Me and my mom usually come to this particular Captain D's whenever she's through with her doctor's appointment. The staff is always friendly, the place is always clean and most importantly they're very fast when delivering the food. By the time we had gotten our drinks and was about to sit down, they had already brought in our food which was no less than five minutes before we were able to eat. Most Captain D's you have to wait for like 10 or 15 minutes before they serve you your food or if you go to the drive-through you have to wait in a long line for about 10 or 15 minutes. But this particular Captain D's service was great staff was great and the atmosphere was really nice.
UPDATE ON THIS CAPTAIN D'S RESTURANT 1/31/2024
I noticed that it's been a while since I've posted a review so today I am posting an update on this particular restaurant. Once again, my mother and I went to this one on Jimmy Carter, thinking that again, we'd have a good time as far as eating our fish. I'm sad to say that did NOT happen today. When we got there, I noticed that the people we had dealt with before was gone. It seemed that someone else is taking ownership. This did not deter me at all cause of course this does happen from time to time. My issue came with the food itself. When we placed our order, we were shocked to see that our food was already ready. Normally it takes like no more than 5 minutes for us to get our food but today, it was less than a minute. We sat down and got ourselves ready to eat and when I ate, some pieces of my fish was rock hard. It was as if the fish was overcooked, which was shocking to me. Even the hushpuppies were like rubber balls, very rubbery and dry, which normally they are cooked well and even though have cornbread in it, it's supposed to be moist. But this wasn't.
I don't know if the food that they gave us had already been cooked and was just sitting there, which I do think this was what happened. But I really hope they get their stuff together but this is wrong to make folks buy this fish and...
Read moreI placed an online order on Nov 29. I received a confirmation that my order would be ready at 8:30 pm. There was a line in the drive thru so there was a wait. I was asked to hold once I reached the speaker. When they came back I told them I had an online order. They said drive around. Again there was a wait until I reached the window. He calls out an order that was not mine. I repeated that I have an online order. He goes to check and comes back and says he doesn't see my order and asked if I had the right location. I showed him my confirmation. I told him it's on the confirmation I just showed. I showed him again. He says that I have the wrong location because the zip code is 30071. I said no this is the right location. I asked why he doesn't know the location of where he works. He says he's not from here. He leaves the window again and speaks to someone out of view and looks at a bulletin board. He comes back and asks what did I order so he can make it. He asks for help ringing my order since I already paid for it. Someone comes from the back and tells him he can't do that because it's a franchise. This person was supposedly a manager by the name of Ike. He asked where I placed the order. I said on the Captain Ds website. He said that is a 3rd party website and they have no control of orders not showing up. I explained that my card has already be charged. He said the only thing that could do was ring up the order and have me pay again. I would have to call tomorrow to dispute it. At this point it was almost 9 pm and past my child's bedtime. Even though I had an email confirmation and my account had already been charged I had to pay for the order again. This is really poor customer service. As a customer I should not have to be charged twice because of their system error. They couldn't even provide me with a number to call. I will have to dispute the double charge with my bank. This location needs to do better. They can start by learning their...
Read moreI didn’t even know there was a Captain D’s in the area until I got a coupon in the mail. This is the first fast food chain I visited since the Stay-at-Home order was issued.
This location does take some precautionary measures (as you can see by all the signs) in the midst of the pandemic.
The only problem is that they don’t require customers to wear masks. There were three ppl who didn’t wear mask. The elderly man, I can understand, but the other two were clearly in their 20s or early 30s and those two ppl walked by my table!!! 😱😱😱 If ppl are still resistant to wearing a mask then,....well....ughh I just won’t dine-in anymore.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: The staff were friendly. They even came by our table to greet us and ask if everything was ok. (They didn’t do this with the other dine-in customers. They probably did this with us specifically because we were having frustrations in understanding the options from the coupons. So they do try to make the effort to address any problems)
DINE-IN : I forgot that they pack the food in to-go boxes even if you dine-in. (I have not been to Captain D’s since the Buford Hwy location closed years ago 😅). I couldn’t help but cringe at throwing away so much styrofoam (I had brought my own food containers to pack any leftover too 😢).
Suggestions for improvement:
For the dine-in option, please replace the to-go boxes with woven food baskets covered with wax paper to reduce the waste.
Please lock the door to the dining area. It makes me nervous seeing both dine-in and take-out customers passing through the dining area to exit. It does not make sense to let customers who are getting take-out walk through the dining area and pass by dining customers who have their...
