Bay Seafood — Restaurant in Norfolk

Wow! I actually hate seafood so when my Dad surprised me with a pair of fried crabs, I was scared! However, I was blown away with how good that pair of crabs was. The batter was absolutely delicious - so flavorful without tasting too salty. Funnily enough, I originally asked for hot sauce but the lady at the counter said I did not need it and refused to give me any.... she was 100% correct. The crabmeat itself paired well with the batter. I have never had whole crab before so I don't know how this compares to other places but, to me at least, these crabs were meaty and tasted fresh. The only downside is that this place is quite literally a hole-in-the-wall kind of place so it does not look very appealing on the outside or inside. However, this is definitely not a reflection of the food (or the crabs at least, I don't know about everything else).

Overall, I guess I like crabs now?? I would definitely come back here when...

Checking out one of the local areas for some Seafood crabs my father took me to this place here this was my first time trying it I have to say this was my first time trying it the crabs were battered very well and seasoned nicely for the fried ones the steam ones was really seasoned and had a kick to it that bit the back of your throat it was very nice the crabs were could have been a little bit bigger but that was an option of having male and female crabs I will have to say that the price of it was a little overpriced in my book but it was okay I got to say I probably would go back and try it again the service I got to say they were very Bland they just wanted you to get to the point order get your food and pretty much go and I also have to say the smell of it wasn't exactly inviting but overall it wasn't too bad I probably would go back again when I hit the area cuz I love my seafood and I love my crabs...

I ordered four pairs of fried crabs, got home me and my son start to eat our pairs. The moment of cracking them open the smell of bleach and ammonia reeked from the inside of the crabs. My son started eating before I opened mine and soon started vomiting! I instantly went back up there to get a refund and it was packed! Everyone wanted to know what’s wrong with my food I let them smell for their self. They were all disgusted! The smell was soo horrible and strong your eyes would water. I went to the front and the lady only wanted to give me half my money back because she said I opened the crabs! I had to!! So I demanded all of my money and so did everyone else in there. They even threatened to call the health department! Not only I got all of my money back but everyone in there left right behind me. Thanking me! I will never return! Check your food before leaving...
