Chen Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Norfolk

Ordered from this chinese take out restaurant from it's Google review online via phone; plus it was the closest one to where I was staying. It's located in a tightly packed, partial shopping center with a few businesses. BEAWARE: Shady looking characters may roam the shopping center or small strip mall premises bc its located on CHURCH STREET. I pulled into the parking spot and it was BUSY. Cranking out the chinese food from the demand, of the "rainbow spectrum of the masses". My order consisted of fried dumplings which were okay and not really fried, steamed white rice, Egg drop soup which was underwhelming in taste yet piping hot and egg rolls that were decent for consumption. Was it worth the 23 dollars in food, No. However service was fast...

So I usually order from here because the food is good but the two ladies that work there are getting more and more rude as time goes by. The food was good but the service was trash!!!! They initially told me one price over the phone then told me another price when I got there and actually placed my order. When I told them they told me another price over the phone the more stubby lady told me it's no way same price. They did not like that I didn't want to be taxed per item instead of for the entire order. They also were upset that I'd asked for more duck sauce which I was willing to pay for. Of course I read the reviews on TripAdvisor and settled on this place. It's downright puny inside. Reminds me of a little European bistro. The menu changes daily which is good for me. I had an arugula salad and then a pasta dish. Both really good. I also had a glass of vino. Topped it off with goat cheese cake. All very good. Service was great. Prices were high.
