Degollado Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Norfolk

I have been coming to this restaurant for about two years, it was recommended by a co-worker and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff goes over and beyond for my order request. I absolutely love the bowl of chili and beef dip. It is soooooo good with those nice hot tortilla chips that come out you just shake your head back and forth at how good it is. I've tried several items on the menu and everything was super amazing...from the enchiladas to the soups to the salads. The best part is that they deliver with Door Dash. Yes I had it delivered to my house and ever was well packaged and piping hot. The Chefs are amazing in their food preparation and it is cooked with love and perfection. New name should be LA CUCARACHA !!!! My family has eaten here a handful of times. The food has always been good and the best part is its never over crowded. An unwanted guest joined us 11/23/2018. My wife and I enjoyed a margarita before we ordered. A cockroach crawled out of my menu. I smashed it and showed it to the waiter. All he did was say "Oh my God" I went to the manager and he offered me the sink behind the bar to wash my hands. Then says"Its the weather that brings them inside" Nothing like Im sorry or any type of condolence. We walked out without paying for our drinks. The manager looked right at us and never said a word. I wasnt looking for free stuff but Im very upset that they never even tried to make it better. Very disappointed. Thought we found "our" spot for Mexican food. Never again! This past Saturday was my very first time at this Mexican restaurant when I walk in it was nothing but love they were smiling when greeting me and it was so surprising because usually any other Mexican restaurant they would just watch you and sit and won't take your order the owner and the waiter both walked up to me and asked politely am I ready to order. I ordered the chicken quesadilla for myself and I ordered the chicken enchiladas & chicken quesadilla and rice for my daughter the food was delicious they gave me so much food and my daughter had a kid's meals for 4.75 they also gave her a lot of food she could not eat all that food my quesadilla was so so good and full of flavor I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. As a Black American they did not treat me any different and I will be going to this restaurant...
