I’ve eaten at Boomerang several times however today I took my 4 & 2 year old grandchildren with me and it was a fun experience for them with all the toys, pictures and such however I ordered a Chicken Fry Dinner and they ordered corn dog, chicken bites meals and my breading on chicken fry tasted horrible to the extent I had to remove the breading and their fries looked old and tasted bad as well as the chicken bites and corn dog! They all tasted like they were cooked in very old grease! One of the waitresses asked about the food and I told her it tasted horrid and she saw I was taking the breading off! She seemed at a loss started to say something which I’m sure was about sending my food back but I do not do that! I said I’d just eat the meat which is most important any how! When I went to pay nothing was said and I felt someone, owner or manager should have addressed my issue which surely the waitress said something! But no nothing was done nor said! I paid over $20 for food that none of us completely ate! It was a waste of my SSI money! I do not eat out often due to a fixed income and when I do eat out I would like a...
Read moreWe arrived nearly at closing time so it was a brief experience. The ladies at the counter were tired, you could tell, but they were friendly and attentive as could be. The atmosphere is so cool. It's fun to see how many celebrities you can recognize in the pictures around the restaurant. The restaurant and bathrooms were incredibly tidy for it being the end of the day. When we realized we were there after closing (the ladies at the counter never mentioned they were closing, they just let us continue to eat. Nice!) we asked for to-go boxes because I was not about to leave my friend mushrooms and that delicious ranch dressing (they should bottle that up and sell it). All of our food was great, fresh, and made to order. Nothing has set under a light or in a warmer. As soon as we were ready to leave a very strong rain storm rolled through, I was soaked through but my mushrooms made the trip home more tolerable. All in all I will addhave to give The Boomerang restaurant in Norman, OK an above average rating. Excellent really for the courtesy they extended us at such a late...
Read moreIf I’m not mistaken this restaurant used to be called J-Pats. I ate here, always getting 2 pizza burgers, every day for lunch back in the 80’s when I worked at a car repair shop called West Automotive of whom the owner of the shop, Tom West, finally gave up the shop sometime in the last decade after starting his shop I believe in 1971. He introduced me to J-Pats in 1980 when I 1st starting working for him and I got to know Pat, the owner of the restaurant, who had an old eye injury who once told me if it wasn’t for the dedicated young employees, many of whom were local high school kids, because of his limited ability to see he wouldn’t have been able to keep the restaurant going all those years. I only recently found out that Pat had given up the restaurant long ago and I had planned to come through Norman after all these years and eat my favorite burger. Was sure saddened to know it was no more. Was a great place to eat and I’ve wondered since what...
