Dara Maries — Restaurant in Norman

I’ve seriously kept quiet about this review for a very long time. This place used to be one of my all time favorite places. I remember being in High School and being able to go here on my lunch break before my afternoon classes. Lately, I’ve been extremely disappointed with this place. First, their hours are horrible. They are only open 2 hours, 2 days a week. And they don’t post on social media when they’re closed. So, you drive all the way there to find out they are on their 3rd holiday vacation for weeks on end. Then, they seriously cut out all their menus and only serve Chicken Sandwich. Don’t get me wrong, the sandwich is great! No poppyseeds casserole, potato soup, pasta salad, etc! Its so sad! It honestly angers me how they are never open and are out of everything. I doubt this will get read. I doubt they care. And I probably won’t be back. But hey, they’re never open and...

I have eaten deliciousness from here many times. I have sat at the few tables while surrounded by beautiful things and encouraging words.

I have called in orders to pick up and taken away with maybe a cookie or two added on to the order as I perused the varieties to choose from.

I have just shown up to see what the special for the day is and enjoyed every bite.

This place is home cooking done fast and as ordered. You must have the poppyseed chicken special and a chicken salad sandwich. Add on a sand tart and frosted sugar cookie. You can even preorder cookies that are ready for you to go...

Absolutely OUTSTANDING in every area! Quality, selection, service, cleanliness ... excellent all the way around! When looking for breakfast muffins, scones, or cinnamon rolls, a good healthy meal for lunch, assorted bakery items, or just something eclectic from the vast assortment of candles, home accessories, gifts, etc, Dara Maries is the place to go. Never have I been disappointed in anything and the service is always impeccable - something very hard to find in a world where service is becoming a lost art.
