Buckle up, this one’s going to be a bumpy ride folks! I called ahead to have them start a pizza pie, and the girl that answered the phone was very pleasant. So I thought we were off to a good start. However, this is not the case for the rest of the experience. I knew something was off about this place when they told me they don’t have Cooper Sharp for their cheesesteaks; which is a Philly violation! Then came the drama… The environment was very hostile! There were two older gentlemen, and two young girls working in front of the house. One of the older gentlemen kept yelling at the girls and talking down to them, which I thought was really inappropriate. It says a lot about a restaurant when an owner cannot be respectful to his employees. I thought at least the Pizza must be really good, but no. David Portnoy would rate it at a 4.8 at best. It was floppy, undercooked, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it had too much cheese. As my kids tried to pick up a slice the cheese slide right off, which frustrated the hell out of my boys. The cheesesteak that I ordered was probably one of the worst that I’ve ever had not just in the Philadelphia area, but anywhere. It was store-bought bread, poor quality meat, and Kraft singles, American cheese. It also had a strange odor to it when it came out; not very pleasant. It made my belly hurt. I walked up to the counter to ask for a refill for my drink. The owner yelled at the girls telling them that they have to work faster and look at all these people waiting to be served. (There was like 2 people in front of me). He then proceeded to “refill my drink”. I watched him fill it up and then walk away to assist with refilling receipt paper into one of the machines. He completely forgot about my drink as I thirstfully watched my Pepsi just sitting behind the counter just barely out of my grasp for about 10 minutes. Sometimes when you try to work faster, you forget to work smarter, just saying. Hostile work environment, horrible pizza, horrible cheesesteaks what more can you ask for? The two girls at the counter did an excellent job with their customer service. Keep your heads up girls, I’m sure it will get better… most likely not at this place… but your next job hopefully. Can’t get much...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Via's Pizza, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Nestled in a cozy corner of the neighborhood, Via's exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
The menu offers a delightful array of options, but the star of the show is undoubtedly the pizza. Each pie is crafted with care, boasting a perfect balance of crispy, thin crust and generous, flavorful toppings. I opted for the classic Margherita and was blown away by the freshness of the ingredients and the rich, tangy tomato sauce. The mozzarella was perfectly melted, and the fresh basil added a wonderful aromatic touch.
Beyond the pizza, the staff at Via's Pizza deserves a special mention. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine smiles and attentive service. The team is knowledgeable and passionate about their offerings, always ready to provide recommendations or accommodate special requests.
What sets Via's apart is their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. It's clear that they take pride in their craft, using only the finest ingredients and traditional methods. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Via's Pizza is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic and memorable pizza experience. I can't wait to return and try more from their...
Read moreSuch a fun old-school pizza joint! The vibe is classic, the portions are huge, and everything we tried hit the spot. The steak Stromboli is an absolute beast — loaded with flavor and big enough to share (but you won’t want to). The broccoli bites are crispy little bites of magic, and of course, you have to get the pizza — it’s what they do best. Don’t skip the water ice either — we tried a few flavors and the cherry was hands-down our favorite. This place is a must if you’re craving that nostalgic pizza...
