Angelina's Sub Shop — Restaurant in North Adams

I brought my fiancé (who didn’t grow up here) to the Angelina’s in North Adams because it was one of my first jobs many years ago, and because I wanted him to experience what a “real grinder” is supposed to taste like. The people working made the experience awkward and embarrassing for us and everyone else in there including a young females that was working. The larger woman working was yelling at and being rude to the younger female worker, then when the younger female went to the back the remaining 2 workers were remarking about her being slow and laughing (loud enough for the 6 people standing waiting for food to hear.) -Also noted that same angry woman being short and rude with customers, also with myself who snapped back when I accidentally started telling her what I wanted when she wasn’t talking to me, she was asking someone else what they wanted. It was awful, we didn’t even want to be there. So even though our grinders were decent, we will never go back there again. Even if it was one of my first jobs back in the 90’s. We felt terrible for the young female worker who is clearly still new and being treated...

I called while I was outside to order some Ice Cream. I told the girl I was in a large wheelchair and it won't fit thru the door so zi asked to order if they could bring it out to me right outside the door. Through girl told me she couldn't do that. I asked how was I to order and was told"Open the door and YELL your order in'' When I finally was able to get the door open I politely asked the older lady if she could bring it out to me and she agreed to. She finished waiting on the customers that were there before, got me my ice cream and brought it out to me and was extremely nice about it. I felt like telling her what the girl on the sub side said, but instead tipped her and left. Just a LITTLE compassion from the girl on the sub side would have meant slot to me, considering there was no customers in the sub side. Was pretty upset with my visit last night. They were open til 12 and I walked in at 11:15. The girl behind the counter looked at me and rolled her eyes at the clock while huffing and puffing. I looked at her and said "youre open til 12, no?" and she says "mhmm" so I said "ok I'd like to order". Half way through her making my sub, a cop walks in and she looks at me and says "can you hold on?", stops right in the middle of making my sandwich and looks at the cop and asks "how can I help you?". Excuse me? I've worked in the food industry and never not once has a cop walked in and I told my current customer to hold on and stopped their order.
