Blown away by the Friendly, Super Helpful Service Formost, as well as Cleanliness & organization and Quality of the items! Iām from upstate NY & the Goodwills here are Nothing like the experience you get at the North Adams Massachusetts Goodwill! Theyāre employees made it feel like shopping at a Specialty Boutique, Better than upstate NYās High End consignment shops! Upon entering there was a yellow floral dress on displayā¦Such a statement piece Absolutely Perfect for a display, something I personally usually wouldnāt want tho as I donāt wear yellow, However I was actually looking specifically for a Yellow dress for Color-themed work photo shoot & despite endless hours of shopping online hadnāt been able to find Any thing Iād feel ok wearing. I instantly asked to take the dress off the mannequin to try on & explained whyā¦the Extremely Pleasant employee said of course & instantly came to help! Then proceeded to quickly grab a pair of perfectly matching shoes for me to try with them! Only a minute after I entered the dressing room she knocked on my door to ask what size I was & gave me another dress that she felt might be perfect for me - Which it Was! I couldnāt believe how perfect fit it was & after only seeing me for a minute beforehand! The dress literally felt Tailored for me! I donāt like wearing yellow At All so for someone to help find 2 dresses & so quickly, both fitting perfectly In That color that Iād Actually Like to Wear, was Unbelievable!!!! I Really wish I had asked her nameā¦Unfortunately she was no longer the one at the register to Thank when I came out! I gave the 1st dress from the mannequin back at the register & apologized that I couldnāt put it back on the display since the display was already re-dressed & Another employee overheard quickly coming up in an equally friendly manner to tell me that it was perfectly alright & they would take care of it! (The very next morning I came back to buy that dress too;) I was blown away by the super friendly, super helpful staff & Now have 2 options for work photos & summer enjoyment, All for Only $12 Total! Did not think Iād find Anything yellow in a million years that Iād feel comfortable in my skin wearing for the photo shoot but left Goodwill in North Adams feeling Relieved, Grateful &...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband wanted to donate a small bag of some nice clothes that didn't fit him well any more, but based on the following and a couple other bad experiences trying to donate to this Goodwill, we will not be donating to this store in future. Here's his experience:
Tonight at around 6:30pm I stopped at the Goodwill store on State street in North Adams MA. I had one bag of clothing to donate. Evidently the store was now closed (even though their hours listed on Google Maps says they were open until 8 tonight) but there was a woman working in the back, she was outside and had the back door to the store still open. As I got out of the car she was quick to let me know that the store was closed and that they could not accept any donations. I was a little stunned seeings how the door was open and all she had to do was place the bag inside and deal with it tomorrow but she was very adamant about not accepting a donation that could help peoples lives that really need the help. I asked her once more if she really didnāt want my bag of clothes, she said no we canāt accept donations when the store is closed.
I decided at that moment that I will no longer be donating anything to Goodwill. This isnāt the first time that this Goodwill has given me a hard time about donating something. Maybe someone should remind these workers what the purpose of Goodwill is, because I think theyāve gotten lost along the way. I can understand if the door wasnāt open and they donāt want things piling outside the store while theyāre closed but that was not the case here, the case here was a lazy employee that didnāt want to work more than she had to.
P.S. You should make it as easy as possible for the people donating considering donations are what make your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisiting this Goodwill location is always a joy, and one of the biggest highlights is the wonderful Fawn. Sheās genuinely sweet, warm, and endearing, making every interaction feel meaningful. Conversations with her are more than just polite chit-chatātheyāre enlightening and humbling. The stories of her family's legacy of community service and her commitment to helping the North Adams neighborhood through her work at Goodwill have particularly moved me.
Fawn has a remarkable ability to remember details about me and my family, greeting us each time with kindness and even complimenting us on small things that brighten our day. Her unique hazel eyes, which seem to change color every time we meet, are just one small reflection of the beauty she shares with everyone she encounters.
Aside from the lovely staff, this store itself has a great selection of clothes, quality furniture, and unique gift items. Iām always especially impressed by the book section, where I find great reads at amazing prices. I also appreciate the range of discounts and special promotions Goodwill offers, such as weekly color tag sales, 99-cent days, and seasonal events like the "12 Days of Deals" in December. Additionally, they provide discounts for seniors and veterans, making shopping here even more affordable and inclusive. These ongoing sales make shopping here both affordable and exciting, offering even more reason to come back regularly. The combination of excellent selection, great deals, and genuinely caring staff like Fawn makes this Goodwill location a true standout in...
