We love supporting local businesses, and Good Day Cafe is a great neighborhood spot that's super convenient for us. The overall atmosphere is inviting, which makes it a nice place to relax. However, we had a pretty negative experience during our recent visit, unfortunately due to one of the staff members.
While we were ordering, a male employee was barking orders at the younger female employees, which created an uncomfortable vibe. He kept yelling things like "no cream cheese" and other demands (which yes they need to know so they can alert customers to things they no longer have…but walk the 15 feet over and tell the employee in between customers????). We had to repeat our order twice because the poor cashier seemed flustered from being yelled at. This disruption likely led to us receiving the wrong coffee order twice.
The cafe has an open kitchen concept, so customers can see and hear everything, and the yelling was hard to ignore. If we had walked in during one of his outbursts, we probably would have turned right back around. It wasn’t even that busy to justify such behavior.
All in all, Good Day Cafe has a lot of potential, but this employee’s attitude really detracted from the experience. I’m not sure we will be back, but if we do, I hope he...
Read morePandemic update: Good Day is open for take-out, you can order online in advance and pick what time you want to grab your items. We got a sweet bites platter and some muffins to celebrate our anniversary in May, and everything was very well set up - we went in and there were clearly marked spots to stand in line, hardly any people, very safe and clean. Looking forward to when we can dine in again, but until then everything is still reasonably priced and delicious! :)
Original review: This place is the best for miles around - amazing atmosphere, cool location, great selection, great service, and everything I've had there is tasty. Also, I am really confused by the people saying this place is pricey. It's not. It's the most reasonably priced cafe I've been to outside of maybe a Dunkin Donuts. Maybe I am buying different things from other people? A whole bunch of their sweets / pastries are under $2. I usually buy a pot of tea, a cappuccino, a pastry and a breakfast sandwich. At Starbucks that runs me about $20. At Good Day, it's $15, and that's including a...
Read moreAmazing food and pastries! The lattes look like they’d be really good too. I got the Cuban sandwich & the toffee cheesecake banana bread 10/10!! The service was very off putting which kind of threw off the whole experience. The curly blonde woman with glasses was extremely rude to me which I have honestly never experienced, and she wasn’t treating anyone that was in line or acknowledging them. I did ask why she was talking to me that way but I don’t think she heard me or chose not to answer. She was a little nicer to all the gentleman that came in after us, I’m not sure if they were regulars or what but it was extremely weird. It seemed as if I was the biggest inconvenience of the day and simply ordered 2 items and had 1 question about the ham lol. It’s a bit pricey, but extremely good and tastes fresh. I would come back to support a local business but I’m not sure with the interaction we had today- seems a bit on brand considering a lot of...
