We arrived mid-morning, two adults and a child, just wanting something good and quick so that we could be on the road for a vacation. There was a couple already eating, sitting on the front porch, and another couple with a child arrived just as we did....and that was it, the place was not busy, and I have no idea what the other people ordered. We stood at the sign that asked us to wait to be seated for about 2 minutes before being told that we could seat ourselves in the empty restaurant. After a short wait we got menus and were offered drinks, which happened in an acceptable amount of time, then we had to wait a few minutes to be asked for our order, and we ordered two breakfast sandwiches, one with a side of hash browns, and one chocolate chip pancake for the child. After waiting an excruciating period of time, including a few looks over the shoulder at the kitchen area, and nearly asking for the check just for the drinks so that we could get going.....the food finally came, and the food was good. We shared the hash browns and commented to each other how they were very very tasty. The breakfast sandwiches on ciabatta rolls, was a pleasant change from typical English muffin sandwich. The chocolate chip pancake was a chocolate chip pancake, no offense intended. It's just that a pancake is just a pancake after all. It took nearly an hour, and we were visibly frustrated. I don't know if this is the norm for this restaurant or we just happened to get in there at a bad time, I will however say that the couple that was there before us, and the other couple with the child that arrived at the same time as us all left considerably earlier than us. I don't know if I'll be going back because of the lengthy service, which is too bad because the food was actually good. Maybe it's because we were trying to hit the road and get up and off to the mountains,...
Read moreCame in with my girlfriend on a sunday. The place was not very busy but it still took a while for someone to come take our coffee orders. My girlfriend got a "dirty" chai that we were quite sure didn't have any espresso in it so we asked for an extra shot of espresso. We had to remind them twice what we had asked for. The food took some time and after two to three bites of her omelet my girlfriend found a hair inside the omelet. She brought the plate up to the register and then shortly after a woman, not sure if she was the manager or owner, came over and tried to say that it was "cheese" and that they didn't have anyone in the kitchen with long hair, it felt very much like she was implying that it was my girlfriends hair, now if it had been on top that would be partially believable but the hair was INSIDE the omelet so that's just not possible. She tried to say they would just discount the omelet but my girlfriend took maybe three bites so we asked that it be removed from the bill. It then took some time for the bill to come and once it did arrive I ended up just waking it up to the counter, where I definitely saw someone with long hair in the kitchen. The young man who was our waiter was very nice and we do appreciate that there wasnt any pushback about removing the omelet from the bill, but it was our first time eating there and I can say with confidence that we will not be returning. The way the manager/owner reacted to us finding hair in the food was really unprofessional and honestly ruined the rest of the (not...
Read moreI wanted to like this place is so much. Having 4.2 Stars I was drawn to it. Order the corned beef hash eggs and toast. When the plate arrived there was hardly any food on it it looked like the leftovers of someone who could not complete the meal. Just scraps of what look like it was supposed to be corned beef a lot of potatoes, two very overcooked eggs and dry toast. The Corned Beef did not taste like corned beef but instead tasted like sausage that had been cut into small cubes and fried. One of the waitresses replaced my over cooked eggs, and as much as I tried I still couldn't eat it. I did not send it back I just simply ordered a scone and cappuccino. The cappuccino seem to be made with a regular coffee beans and not espresso beans. The scone was only partially edible. I am so sad, I just moved to the area and was truly hoping for a great breakfast place around the corner. My search will continue.
a major plus for this restaurant is the staff. They were very accommodating and...
