4 months after the initial Groupon purchase and 1 reschedule later we finally enjoyed the class! I'm not sure if they are still offering the vouchers since it was probably just to generate initial buzz, but I had to wait about 3 months before I saw a class that I was really interested in taking on a weekend night. The 1 star deduction was mainly for the disappointment with the out of no where class cancellation. I originally planned for my SO and I to take this in January as the voucher was going to expire soon after. I called the place to ask what happened and apparently a larger group of people cancelled the booking and it was basically just me and my SO so they didn't have enough people for it to be worth it running the class. It would have been nice if they could have offered something else additional like extra recipe(s) for the inconvenience. We arrived at the location about 10 mins early to check in and the head chef, Andrea checked us in on her iPad and showed us our 6 person table top work station labeled "Tomatoes". There were trays near their drink dispensers where you could open your BYOB wine. We were in a rush and didn't bring any. For each work station they also provided pita slices and dipping oil to snack on. The classroom looked beautiful and all the equipment new. Andrea ushered us to the front counter where she would provide us the demonstration and we would follow along. Her 2 helpers provided us all of the tools and ingredients needed for the current portion of the recipe. The interesting part, was that we weren't all preparing the meal from start to finish, but we all had specific tasks for a piece of the recipes. The portion size was enough for everyone at the station though. For the Tapas Espanolas class we made the following: - Albondigas with sauce - turkey meatballs with tomato sauce - Butternut Squash Empanadas: dough and butternut squash, corn, cheese stuffing - Patatas Bravas with sauce - baked potatoes My SO prides himself on his cooking skills and even he was able to pick up some tips and tricks. We learned an efficient way of chopping onions to minimize the eye burn, knife skills, and cracking eggs to avoid stray shells. Andrea was very engaging as an instructor and made the steps for recipe easy to follow along. We couldn't wait after prepping for 90 minutes to dig in. The helpers put everything in the oven and created the final presentation in the bowls so everything looked fancy, but I can't wait to recreate the recipe. I believe without a promotional voucher or groupon it's about $60/person. Compare that to $90+ for Eataly, Sur La Table $69/person in Boston and $80/person for Create A Cook in Newton. It's a great idea for a fun indoor activity, but I would definitely check the details of the classes to see the menu. I know some other people commented that the Tasty Thai recipe wasn't worth it since they made summer rolls and those ingredients can be cheaply procured. Overall we had a fun time and our table mates were great company!

I made the reservations for Taste Buds Kitchen as a Christmas present for my husband and two adult children. We had a wonderful time and made lasting memories. The Chef was so talented and funny, it was an education along with entertainment. The instructions were simple to follow and food came out delicious! We are already thinking about what menu we are going to attend next! We highly recommend Taste Buds Kitchen for anyone who enjoys cooking, (or even someone who doesn't, like my husband) as they will like cooking when they are done. Great event for family and friends. We can't wait to go again. Lori Ebberston

My mom and I had a blast here! I bought her a cooking class to make Thai food for her birthday and the whole thing was so well done. The chef was friendly, engaging and helpful. I appreciate some of the prep working being done but then having us doing other parts of it. I also like the idea of sharing tables with others if you don’t fill your table. We made new friends and had a wonderful time. And of course the recipe came out delicious!! Looking forward to coming back again!

They are very much about the money brought our 4H group there. Was booked for a sweet and savory field trip. They were supposed to Make cupcakes and one other dish. The company I guess tried to contact the wrong person and when they didn't here back. The manager or owner decided that it would just be cupcakes with buttercream NO savory dish at all. When discussing with her she short with us and kept bringing up the contract. However not once acknowledging that on the "Contract" We had a point of contact person listed that they never reached out to. So we paid $35 each for 16 children to receive 4-5 cupcakes to take home. When I asked her what the savory item they would make was because of the lack of proper communication her response was buttercream. I then said so just cupcakes because in no world is buttercream considered a savory dish. She was just unpleasant and kept saying well this is what we have i just need the remaining balance due. Once she received that never saw her again. Never again.

NOTE In her response about "contract" she doesn't mention how they did NOT reach out to our point of contact person which was me that we SPECIFICALLY stated on said "Contract" She also doesn't take any responsibility or offer any apology because well she got the money and once she had it we never saw her again. Such a shame so many better places and people who will...

I am sure if my children were able to experience their cooking class, it would have been lovely as I have only heard great things about the experience at Taste Buds Kitchen.

I purchased a cooking class for my 3 children for Christmas. Unfortunately my son tested positive for strep and flu the morning of the class. I understand they have a cancellation policy but most companies can make an exception for special circumstances not to mention I paid $165, which is a good amount of money to throw away. I’m a single mom and getting my other kids to the class is difficult when one of them is so sick. The woman I spoke to on the phone, Laurel, was so rude and not understanding of the situation at all. She kept reciting their policy. She did not care that my child was ill or that this was one of their Christmas presents. I basically had to tell my kids because one of them got sick they lost out on their Christmas present that they were looking forward to. I have never dealt with such an awful company. I’m so disappointed because it does seem like it would have been a great time for my kids. Instead they just took my money and didn’t care how others may...
