The food and the employees here are amazing!! I can’t say enough good things about them! So my in-laws and cousins came into town tonight, so I took them to Yeong’s for dinner at 7:40, even though I knew that was probably pushing it since they close at 8. Well, it’s 8:10 and we’re still eating 😳 I had mentioned to my mother-in-law on the way there that they close at 8 and wondered if we’d have enough time, but we thought it’d be fine, but we obviously took way longer than I thought we would.. the employees started putting up chairs and cleaning the floor and turned off the music cause they were trying to hint to us that they were closed, but my father-in-law was completely oblivious to everything 😬🙈 I should’ve told him that they were closed at 8 and that we should probably leave so everyone could go home, but I hate speaking up and didn’t want anyone to feel bad, so I just sat there, wishing I could hide under the table 🙈 And they even made ice cream for the two kids after they had already cleaned up the kitchen and they also refilled our waters! When we finally got up to leave around 9, I went back to the kitchen to apologize for keeping them open so late, and the girls were sooo understanding and sweet, I couldn’t believe it!! I would’ve been so annoyed if I were in their shoes. So I just wanted to let everyone know that this place...
Read moreI have been here before and it was a good experience. It was good enough experience that I had to take my brother when he came down to visit for the weekend. There is a good selection of things to order, the portions are good and the staff is really nice. I ordered the Western burger and my brother ordered the Southwestern burger (which is what I ordered my first time). This was on a Saturday and though we beat the rush of customers that soon followed we left feeling somewhat queasy after our meal. It lasted through the rest of the night that we couldn't eat anything else. By Sunday morning my brother was hit first, showing all the typical signs of Food Poisoning. I was feeling okay until later that night when I started experiencing the same symptoms which tormented me into the next day and making a trip to the emergency room. I like to support local businesses and they do pretty well according to the many awards displayed near the register but even as I type this I feel extremely nauseous and doubt I will ever return as a customer. It was good going down but horrible coming back up. I really hope they prevent this from ever happening again and look into the cleanliness and food handling in...
Read moreI stopped by Yeong’s Place in North Bend, Oregon — a small, casual spot known for burgers and diner-style food. I tried their Patty Melt and Giant Burger, and here’s the honest take: it’s a mixed bag. The Patty Melt ($12) looked promising, fries included, but the patty was thin and the rye bread tasted like something from a grocery store. Flavor was okay (3.75/5), but value felt low (3/5). A thicker patty and better bread would make it much more satisfying. The Giant Burger was massive. It’s filling and enjoyable, but the flavor reminded me a lot of Carl’s Jr.’s Famous Star — not bad, but not unique. Value-wise, it’s good (4.5/5) because of the portion. Atmosphere is basic and a little shabby: worn tables, a few flies, and a street/gas station view. Takeout is probably the way to go. Service was friendly, but I waited around 25 minutes despite not many customers. Bottom line: Yeong’s Place delivers quantity over wow factor. The Giant Burger fills you up, the Patty Melt disappoints, and overall, it’s a casual spot — not bad, but it doesn’t live up...
