After a long , fun day at the beach, my family and I were hankering for some quality burgers last Thursday (August 11, 2022). I googled, "best burger place near me", and some joints appeared. Perhaps it was the close location, or the words, "burger and beer", that was enough to intrigue us; and so my wife and I headed down to the establishment, grabbed a couple of stools and ordered two drafts while we looked at the menu and soon made our order of 3 burgers with sides, to go. I am not exaggerating when I say that we waited a long time for our take-out order to be ready...I would say at least a half an hour, but it really felt more like 45 minutes. I ordered a second beer to passed the time, but when a large paper bag was finally presented to us, I quickly chugged the last of my beer, took the bag and paid the 70 dollars and change (along with a ten dollar tip), for the 3 beers consumed and what I thought was 3 burger deluxe orders.
Being that we were very anxious to get home and get to-eating, I purposely overlooked the fact that I was not given a receipt, nor any offer of napkins or condiments. Even an apology for the ridiculous long wait may have gone a long way...but it gets worse. When we arrived home, we discovered that although we've paid for three orders, there were only two. I had to share my order with my wife since it was getting late and we were too tired to go back at that point, so I called them after we ate.
I don't know if the woman took the call was the same one who served us, but she (Noel, as she referred to herself when I asked) apparently knew who I was and asked for my phone number. She stated that someone would call me in a day or two, I can only imagine that she may have been referring to her boss; and we would be compensated. It has been a week, and I am unhappy to say that I have not been contacted, so I feel compelled to pass on this experience to any potential future customers...check your order and ask for a receipt! I felt that the service has many improvements to be made. It really was an unprofessional scenario which we had to endure. Ok I went out of my way to check my orders in delivery service, too bad it only saves 5 pages of orders, so in 98 orders since the end of Nov-2020 yours is the only one that got cancelled after 30 minute wait. Too bad!
"Negative ratings affect our business."
Having wisdom and understanding is better than having silver or gold. Nice and expensive items can be enjoyable, but there are very few things in life that can never be taken away, will never go out of style, and that truly make you a better person. An education is one of those things.
"Your negative rating should be directed towards the delivery service - Uber, Grubhub etc. We have no control over them and they do not provide the customers contact information to address any issues."
Nah, they're great, always standing on customer's side when there is utter injustice going on and issuing refunds and such. Plus I don't have to call, provide my credit card information over the phone, I can track orders, and hey, did I mention the refunds?
P.S. I also tend to reorder from my favorite places with a touch of 1 button, but you didn't get on that list of favorites yet :'( sad. P.P.S. You can send me a sample platter, and I may give your glorious establishment another chance.

Read moreI’ve never written a really really negative review for an eatery but when I saw the relatively high “star rating” for this place I feel compelled to say something for anyone uninitiated. It’s basically a dive bar with tables out front. Both experiences I’ve had were negative. Ordered this during the pandemic- the burgers were very greasy but not the worst- then a year or so later, I tried eating here as it’s one of the few places in the neighborhood with outdoor seating and I was on a walk with my baby daughter sleeping in her carriage. I planned to eat on one of their outdoor picnic tables but had to deal with two of the bar patrons sitting on a bench close by the tables smoking weed and cursing loudly. I decided to take my kid across the street while waiting for the burger which at that point I decided I’d just take to go. When we sat back down there was a local drunk woman who began to harass us at our table who the server was trying unsuccessfully to shoo away. When food was finally ready, got a pretty weak apology; no discount on the food or any gesture that would make me consider giving it another try.
