This is what I sent Hyatt:
We stayed here because we were looking for peace and quiet. We had extremely noisy tenants that were moving out in November so we decided to get a room that weekend since I am pregnant and cannot be stressed much.
When we booked our stay I asked the guest attendant for a quiet location. He puts us right by the back door on the traffic side of the street on the bottom floor. This had to be the noisiest location in the facility! However, it was late and we toughed it out for a night, that was a mistake. We got NO sleep that night because of the traffic in and out of that main door as well as the constant vehicle traffic where our windows were facing.
The next day, we told the concierge that was there that morning. We were very polite,as was the concierge. However, we emphasized that we were only there for peace and quiet and that I needed my rest so we had to have a quiet room. He assured us that he would give us one and we went on our way after getting the new keys.
When we got to our floor, we started walking toward the room..which was again at the end of a hall AGAIN! When we got to the room, we saw that we were directly across from the employee lounge and diagonally across from the ice and vending area. Right before we opened the door, we looked into the employee lounge because the door was wide open. There were about 8 employees or so and it was pretty awkward because we all just stared at each other in silence. We were higly annoyed at that point. Why would they do this to us again after we specifically told them why we were here?
We entered the room and not five seconds after, we heard laughs, screams, and whatever other loud noises from the employee lounge. We called the front desk and they gave us another room.
We wanted to leave but we had a freak snow storm that weekend and were pretty much stuck. We went to the new room and unfortunately, there were noisy guests across from us, which I know that you can't prevent and we were certainly not about to change rooms again. However, they were in and out and the doors there are super heavy. They must weigh a ton! Again, another night of no sleep because the tenants did not stop opening and closing the doors until after 5 am.
In short, this was our third Hyatt stay and the second horrible experience overall. The first bad one was in Bethlehem, PA. The parking situation is quite awkward at both locations. The only Hyatt place we liked was the one In Norcross, GA but we have come to the conclusion that it was not Hyatt that we liked, it was the hospitality of the south.
Bottom line, we wasted over $300.00 for this last stay and I will never recommend this place. I wish we stayed at the Embassy like...
Read moreMe and gf stayed here for one night after we attended the Beer Expo next door at the convention center. We were just looking for a clean room to wind down a bit that was within walking distance. I decided to book this place based on the favorable TripAdvisor reviews and the affordable price. We paid around $128 a night which in my opinion is a great value. I must say that from the moment we walked in it was very comfortable. The night staff was very friendly, accomodating and courteous. They provided excellent customer service which is hard to find in this area.
The hotel grounds and lobby was very clean which is always good to see. We stayed in room 201 it was at the end of the hall next to the stairs. Their is a very nice covered walkway from the parking garage right to the hotel which made it very convenient and parking was free!
The room was very spacious and clean. We found the bed to be surprisingly comfortable too. The room had a small dining/living area and another section were the bed was located. Like others mentioned the ice machines are located every other floor or so, not the most convenient thing but the hotel is so small that its not bad at all.
The guys at the front desk even made sure to go out of their way to accomodate my needs. My gf wasnt feeling well and when I asked about local pharmacys they offered different options.
The location is definitly a plus! Transportation to NYC is right across the street. There is a starbucks and dunkin donuts within a 5 min walk as well as a movie theater and plenty of restaurants.
However one of the best parts is that although its a small place they do have a cappuccino machine with starbucks coffee and small snack/bar area in the lobby which is open 24/7.
Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and will definitely use this hotel again during future trips to NYC area. Book with...
Read moreThis hotel is by far the worst that I’ve ever stayed in. Let me begin with false advertising that the hotel has a pool when there’s no pool at all. The soul purpose of booking this hotel was due to it being advertised that there was a pool for my family and kids to enjoy while being on vacation for the week of April Vacation. After checking in, my family and I brought our suitcases upstairs and decided to get a bite at a local restaurant near by. Just to find out that the elevators had stopped working! Not only did the elevators stop working, but the worst part is the fact that I was staying on the 7th floor and I had to leave the building on the stairs and return to go back up to the 7th floor. I was told by management that they are working on it and the problem would be resolved. I drove 6 hours here to then attempt to take a shower and the tub was clogging up and the sink was clogging up as well. I reported it to the front desk and the only option they could offer Was to switch me to another room. Where now not only were the same issues happening with the tub, but now I was greeted with the carpet being soaked. I called the front desk and reported the issues, just to be told that they are short staff and they will put me on the list in the morning for my room to checked by maintenance. Throughout my whole stay, majority of everything seemed to not be working elevator, tub, sink and the ice machine on 7th floor. I attempted to talk with the front desk to express my frustration, concerns and also alerted them that my mother had surgery and she can not keep goin up and down the stairs. Just to get a response of no empathy, “I’m sorry.” My stay here was very unacceptable, horrible and overall disappointing! I will be contacting the Attorney General’s office and the Better Business Burea with this...
