I recently dined at Waterside based on a friend's recommendation, and unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations—far from it, actually.
First, let's talk about the food. We had a prefix menu at $85 per person that I found to be extremely underwhelming given the price. Started with a basic small mixed greens salad. Just the greens and dressing. Next were three options (steak, chicken, and salmon) I ordered the chicken, took one bite and had to spit it out. Was extremely tough and overcooked. Tasted old. For a place that prides itself on its culinary offerings, I was shocked at how poorly prepared the food was.
To make matters worse, the atmosphere was not what we were led to believe. When I made the reservation, Christian assured me that there would be a live DJ playing top 40, reggaeton, bachata, latin vibes at 10pm. We stayed until about 11:30pm. That never happened . Instead, we were greeted by jarring EDM music that made it nearly impossible to have a conversation. When I asked the staff about the music, they kept lying about the time the music change would start. First it was 10pm, then 10:30, then 11, then 11:30. We asked all night until we realized they flat out lied and the music selection we were promised wasn’t coming. It was frustrating to be misled about such an important aspect of our evening.
Overall, my experience at Waterside was disappointing. Between the subpar food and the misleading information about the atmosphere/music, I left feeling unsatisfied and unlikely to return. I would not recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a pleasant dining experience. There are far better...
Read moreNot what I expected. I had high expectations for this place but things were just okay. Not really worth the price. The waiter was not good at all. Let's start with the wine. Most fine dining restaurants I go to go over the wine menu, he didn't. No problem....I order resiling... The waiter brings out a small carafe of wine and pours it all into my glass and walks off. Most good restaurants bring the bottle to show you what you purchased. They then pour a sip for you to smell and taste. Then they ask if you would like to continue with that wine. After I smelled this wine I knew it wasn't resiling, it smelled and tasted like Pinot, which I don't like. I called him back after taking a small sip and told him I didn't like it and it tasted like pinot. I ordered another wine which was decent, but the same pour and retreat. My sea bass was great but there was nothing with it but scallions and mini corns. They should have included some rice or something. My fiance ordered the filet mignon, which she said was more like chuck steak! The waiter was m.i.a. for most of the meal. I saw the water guy more than I saw him. When I needed him I had to flag him down. When we got the bill we realized why he didn't care because his tip was included (20%). I usually tip %20 or more for good service. But I hate places that include it on small parties because the service almost always sucks. Nice views though... But I wouldn't go there again. Definitely not...
